Morning all, checking in at 2 AFD so far.

Quite pleased as it has been a stressful couple of days DGD taken
into hospital on Thursday and you always feel so helpless when they are poorly, she is only 15 weeks.

Being a Saturday this is one of the days I am allowing a drink but not until OH is home about 9ish so all good.

    Have a good day all,

Echoing the MSEers re binning the brandy. Unless you absolutely can't have it in the house can you donate it to someone who cooks, some booze is quite handy in the kitchen. Are you a cook? Treat yourself to some steak in a brandy deglazed creamy pan sauce....

ETA.. NYNS well done for not touching the brandy!!!

Yvieblue - that's the habit I want to discard. Coming down in the morning at the weekend to an empty bottle because it's just too easy. Don't even need to find a corkscrew these days.

Got up before 8am this morning. It's been a while since I did that at the weekend. Quite chuffed.

Might start treating myself to some nice cordial, some Bottle Green and the like. They're sometimes on offer.

    Morning All :)

This is my first hangover-free Saturday morning in a LONG time. It feels great!

I am off out for a meal and drinks with friends tonight. Does anyone have any recommendations for AF drinks that are a bit more grown up than coke and lemonade?

HI checking in declaring 1 af please shaggy

Started my new 2 week detox and wow do i have a headache (and i rarely dirnk caffiene) have drunk 1.5 litres of plain water yesterday and ive never been to the loo so much in my life, no processed food or wheat or achol..yesterday i was starving im so used to have a slice of bread and butter to make up for smaller economical meals..soup on its own does nothing lol. Think ive eaten the same calories in fruit !

I woke up with a really bad headache this morning, thinking that I must have been drinking last night. It took me a while to remember that I hadn't had a drop of alcohol at all. I hate these phantom hangovers. At least with the real ones you have done something to deserve it.

If you like beer, the only one I would recommend is Becks Blue.

Otherwise why not drink J2O, they have different flavours.

I normally drink orange juice and lemonade when out, I rarely drink alcohol outside the house anyway. It's the alcoholic in me, even if I'm going for a legitimate drink, it's feels bad and I feel like people are watching me even though they have no idea!

Shaggy, I will attempt to do big red letters later for you on this stupid little phone on the back of the iPad'ers advice earlier :D

But the fake ones clear quicker ;)

Do you like lager?? Becks Blue is what i drink if I'm out with 'drinkers' Tastes just like lager and it totally alcohol free.

Many pubs/resturants do 'bottle green' varieties too and they are nice.

Thanks, i'll ask if they do that. If not, i'll stick to J20 and maybe some lemonade.

    :)
