  • Crumbs judi24, that's very good going with your pledges. That should give you a boost to see through the next 28 days. I'm sorry to read about the horrid time you're going through. You're in the right place for support - I'm not a new MSEer just rejoined after a long absence and I missed it.

Wonder how NYNS is faring tonight.

3/31 AFDs and no cravings tonight. Watching Martin Lewis on ITV +1 after my mum rang just as it was starting, and 45 minutes later.... bless her.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Can I join please? I've signed up for Dry January/Dryathlon as my 20 year old son had and bet me I couldn't get through a month AF.

I haven't got any sponsorship yet as we just made it a friendly family bet and will donate that. I must think about which charity and get some sponsorship sorted - both really good causes.

I think our drinking was more habit than anything else. We'd keep saying no drinking on a school night and only at weekends. However, I work shifts, so if I was working at the weekend we'd make during the week our weekend drinking. Hope that makes sense :o

Pleased to say I'm on 3/31

Edited to add - anyone know how to change colour AND font size at the same time on an ipad?

Thanks Greycatlady - last year was a really bad year and the fall out is continuing into this year! I feel such a fool for letting it get to this point but trying to stay positive and move forward instead of wallow in my own self pitty! I have 4 great kids and need to stay strong for them! I really need to get my debt paid off as soon as possible so i can have a good life with them before they are all grown up!

My DD2 turns 21 in Feb - Once many years ago - i promissed to take her to New York for her birthday! i could do it but it would be on a credit card so I am going to try to pay off my CC debt this year (should take 9 months) and then save to take her to New York - hopefully that thought will help motivate me!

I know my girls were worrying about my drinking and this 31 day challenge is to show them that I take thier concerns seriously - at the end of the 31 days I hope to continue with the challenge and reduce if not stop my alcohol intake!

I know. My children are the same. DS is 20 and DD is 17 so trying to set them a good example and prove to myself I can quit for a month and then, depending on how it goes, stay off it or at least cut down.

3/31 for me today please. It's half ten and OH has just made us a hot milk -partaaay - so I can't see us cracking open anything tonight now. Might turn in soon and have a read in bed.

Well done to those who've licked another day and all the best to those still battling with it.

There's a drop down on the ipad that says size. You need to increase size and then select colour before you type. It looks weird but is ok when you post.

Hope that works for you :D
