I'm not doing very well. Had quite a lot to drink yesterday evening sat by myself (nothing sadder, eh?) and today I've had a drink also. Somewhat annoyed as I wanted yesterday to be AF.
Alternatively, you're doing very well, because you genuinely want to change what you're doing and that's the best start of all?
No sense in beating yourself up over what is done. Stop drinking tonight and start afresh tomorrow.0 -
Good evening, everyone
I am really pleased to say AF #4 todayThe meal was lovely, i had such a great time, and stone cold sober. Decided against the AF Becks, and just stuck to coke and lemonade.
It sounds silly, but this time last year, an evening out without drinking even 1 glass of something would have been unthinkable. I am so pleased that i managed it!!0 -
This is worth jumping back on for.
Well done WTBSE, I was wondering how you were getting on. You've earned a double whammy; a good night tonight and a full day tomorrow.:j probably saved money too.0 -
Thanks so much Grey, i am gobsmaked at my own stubbornness sometimes!
Got home, put the kettle on and am now ending the night with a peppermint tea.
I need to remember how good this feels, as i know there will be times during the monthh when i will be really struggling with being AF.0 -
Love the ideas for different drinks - I drink far too much diet coke and as I am not sleeping well it really isn't great to be dinking too much of it at night time! going to try the different cordials with sparkling water and mint in ice! but tonight have stuck to the last for the expensive christmas fruit juice (orange and mango) with sparkling water!
Thought tonight waould be a real challenged but DD2 was home and some of her mates came round and we watched the Great Gatsby on DVD! as she has sonsored me £25 for doing Dry January so I could not have a glass of wine could I?
So reporting 4/31 AFD's - and feeling quite proud!0 -
Well done all of you who have stayed AF tonight. Not sure why I wanted to go out and drink tonight but I did. Would say it was less than usual but it wasn't......about 4 pints of lager then a couple of baileys.
Will probably be drinking again tomorrow cos DH always like to go out for a couple or pints after I've cooked Sunday roast.
Not going to beat myself up about it cos I haven't yet got the horrible feeling in my mouth that I normally have after a few days on the lash.
So still on 2/10 days....will hopefully improve that on Monday.LBM Dec 10. Total unsecured debt £41176  Nov 12 Debt Free Thanks Mum x RIP x

I'm afraid I couldn't bring myself to pour the brandy away. I inevitably drank it. It's conceivable that I subconsciously set myself up for Saturday night, I know how devious my booze brain can be. It's a lesson learned.
Never mind onwards and upwards, it's a new day. Well done everbody who managed last night.0 -
Your right new start..its a whole brand new day today..start afresh good luck for tonight x

Well, I am sad to say I failed last night and drank the usual quantity of wineThe usual feelings of self loathing have resurfaced today along with the 'missed' tv programmes that were watched but will need to be watched again
All my AF days, and even my non AF ones (as they are a reminder of why I am doing this) are bringing me a step closer to my ultimate goal.
Anyway, I am back on it tonight and can declare 3/18.
Hope you were okay last night, forget the self-loathing and read back through your posts of the last few daysDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

I did have a feeling this would happen, temptation when it's sat right in front of you is very hard to ignore, it's like it's calling you. Keep going, stay positive and learn from your blipDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0
