3/15 AFDs now. I've had a stressy day, and I got really mad/upset when a problem I've been trying to get people to take notice of has become evidently larger than first thought. Despite me asking for advice on how to respond, all I got back was waffle. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

Sorry to hear that Satchmo, sounds like a very scary situation. big hugs your way...
1 AFD for December please Shaggy.
I had a good night last night but felt quite antsy at wine o'clock. it got much easier after eating dinner. I must remember HALT and in this case Hungry definitely applied.
Sleep well everyone!0 -
I'm pleased to say today makes 2/14.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -

And a big hug from me too satchmo, and make sure you get it put on record that you asked for advice and what the response was. I'd hate you to end up in that 'disciplinary' situation again.
2 AFDs for me please Shaggy.0 -
Thanks for the hugs. I'm glad to say that there's no chance of it becoming a disciplinary issue, as it's in no way part of my job description. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

Morning all,
Congrats to all those that have managed to stay AF and welcome back to the returnees that I have got to get to know.
2/10 AFD's for me last night please Shaggy and I have every intention of keeping AF until Friday (fingers-crossed).

Just returned from a lovely dog walk and want to share my thoughts.
Wanting a glass of rioja with a steak does not make you an alcoholic. I still want that sometimes.
Wanting to kill all emotional pain with booze because you can't handle it sober is what made me an alcoholic. I still wnat that sometimes, very very rarely, but I now try very hard to deal with any emotional pain in a more constructive way and have got rid of a lot of pain through recovery and counselling anyway.
The other day I said that when I was drinking I had lost touch with what made me feel good. To add to that, when I was drinking I felt so bad about myself, that I believed I didn't actually deserve to feel good.
One !!!!ed up chicken!
So when I 'hear' the pain in some people's posts I can truely empathise.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Hi. Could I join this thread? Im trying to stay AF? I am usually a motivated person but all my motivation has got up and gone
My goal is 9 AF days until 14th December (xmas dinner) and only then having a couple of glasses of wine rather than my usual bottle and a bit and feeling dreadful the next day
Looking forward to the motivation and support

Of course you can join us 5-year plan - you are more than welcome
I think quite a few of us on here are aiming to stay either AF or limit our alcohol consumption at our Xmas do's - I am aiming for the AF approach and have offered to drive to make sure of it
Good luck with 9 AFD's up to 14th :T0
