I need to keep this in mind during Dec - that I don't want to feel shattered, humiliated and talked about:)

That's a good reminder munchin. That's been one of my many positives since joining the thread. Although my target is modest, the drinking days almost never lead to hangovers and NEVER end in embarrassing incidents (unless falling asleep counts!:rotfl:)
Wise indeed, oh maman! and great weight loss since I was last here - wow!!!

Thanks wbf and what pleases me most is I've kept it off for over two years! Not wanting the empty calories/healthy eating is one of my biggest motivators.:o

Morning everyone. A good night's sleep and woke up feeling great. Decided not to drink at this Friday's works do (thanks Munchin, as this was a timely reminder!). Will drive and therefore save even more money by not having to pay for taxis/trains and loads of alcohol. Will have a couple of lime and sodas and leave it at that and go home with my dignity intact (for once, lol!!!).

After my two in a row AF I am feeling pretty good today :)

I still have 3/4 of a bottle of wine in the fridge which, for me, helps. Not having it there is worse for me for some reason.

I wonder if I can manage the hat trick?!

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Glad to welcome December, as it means 2013 is drawing to a close, and it's been a very tough year.

Ditto for me Satchmo. However, I remember thinking that about 2012 and if anything 2013 has been worse! Yet, it hasn't been all bad - there have been some great moments too....:)

I have made the same decision mrsdee - I think this will be the first time I have ever driven (and therefore not had any alcohol) at a work's Christmas do and I am actually looking forward to returning home sober :D

Off the mark for December last night with 1/10 AFD's.

Have a great day everyone :)
