Not feeling very well today with cold and sore throat so no point in drinking as could not taste it anyway! ...

I know you're right but it never used to stop me.

    Same with this.

Both of these resonated with me. Thanks for posting, good reminders that I shouldn't drink 'just because I can'.

Good luck to everyone planning to be AF tonight. I'm definitely joining you. I'm determined to get my 4 nights of SNC in this week. Part of my cutting-down plan was not to drink on 'ordinary' nights in. The more I can get under my belt early in the month the better.

    3 AFDs please Shaggy.

(really wish my 3AF days had become 4)

Fruball don't we always do this to ourselves? I find I am the same and don't reward myself for progress, but instead think the progress was never good enough.

I struggled with two in a row a few months ago (even one AF day would have been good sometimes ). Then a few months ago I managed 5 days, then I managed 10 days a couple of months ago. Now I am 53 days AF in a row and right now am not missing it at all.

Definition of progress - 'develop towards an improved or more advanced condition', progress is a journey and therefore harder to quantify than a goal. But without progress we don't get to a goal. Every progression should be rewarded. :T

Sorry - that's my little lecture over with! :)

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Hi. Could I join this thread? Im trying to stay AF? I am usually a motivated person but all my motivation has got up and gone :( My goal is 9 AF days until 14th December (xmas dinner) and only then having a couple of glasses of wine rather than my usual bottle and a bit and feeling dreadful the next day :( Looking forward to the motivation and support :)

welcomewagon.gif5 year plan you're on the list and Good Luck!

    Hello all :hello:

GreenKaren - Totally agree with what you said about progress. Thank you :)

I am calling in early with 4/14. I really didn't enjoy the wine last night and even less so today which is good! I also have a stinking cold although as Maman said, this would not have stopped me previously :o

I am hoping for 3 in a row again, or dare I say.... possibly MORE! :D

Hope everyone is keeping warm and safe in this horrid windy weather x

5/25 for me please. Thanks to your support I didn't drink last night. Could have used feeling 'virusy' as an excuse but didn't! Hope you all survived the storm ok.
