    Hi

    Thanks for your support.

This mornings meeting was tough, and not unexpectedly I've been given a final written warning. Lessons are being learned both by me and by the organisation. The positive news is I'm being given counselling. I will be retrained on the procedure, and the whole team will be retrained on the procedure.

I didn't escalate a potentially very far reaching issue. My defense was that I could reasonably expect my manager to pick up and deal appropriately with the task within a quick time frame. My manager did pick up the task, but unfortunately dealt with it inappropriately. My failure was that, in the circumstance that arose, we should escalate such matters immediately.

The matter has highlighted procedural weaknesses and the need to strengthen the message in the procedure: rather like when there's a fire alarm practice.

My director, recognising that this was a one-off failure on my part, was at pains to say that we should now move on. He ended the meeting, then came and gave me a hug.

Mrs Dee, so sorry to hear about your mum. Hugs for you.

Winebox, you made me laugh out loud. Your slippery kipper incident was so much like what might happen to me.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

At least you can put the whole situation behind you now Satchmo and move forward - hope all goes well for you at work over the next few days.

So pleased that's all behind you now satchmo and the counselling/training should help. Quite a weight off your shoulders.

Sorry to hear about your mum mrsdee, but you know you've come to the right place to get your drinking under control. Good to see you back.:)

I'm calling in early as I never drink on Mondays unless there's a special occasion or I'm on holiday. And as it's neither of those tonight...

    6 AFDs please Shaggy

good to hear that you are getting the help you need Satchmo.

Winebox, I read somewhere on a thread here (I think it's the 'cook your way through and entire cookbook' in Old Style) that the kipper pate was disgusting, so maybe you've been spared - and at lease the beagle had a treat.

2 more AF days, so 9 in total to report here, only because I am still suffering form tourist tummy even though we've been back two days. Honestly, I have a completely empty gut I think!
I'm trying to keep positive, but if it doesn't clear up by the end of tomorrow I'm off to the docs.
    Trying to keep in budget.

Failed this evening but positive for tomorrow. Now having a cup of tea and wondering why I bothered having some wine.
    Have a good evening everyone.

7/25 AFDs, even though there's an open bottle of red wine in the cupboard. Back on the wagon, and getting back my positivity.
