Morning all
Well I'm pleased to report that I woke this morning feeling like a million dollars (well not quite :rotfl:) but I certainly felt so much better at the start of the weekend unlike last Saturday when I woke feeling very hungover and suffered all day/all weekend/all week.
Last night, I limited my alcohol beverages to just one which I took time to enjoy and meant I had a good night's sleep and don't feel like I want to cry this morning.
I've had a couple of evenings this week when I've thought, it would be nice to have..... but I have busied myself with something else and the moment has passed.
So far 9/250 -
Hi all
1 more AF to add to my total of 5 so 6/15 please, Shaggy.
...and it was a Friday night AF (unheard of) AND... I went out for a friend's birthday. I had diet coke :T and drove so I wouldn't be tempted. :T
Weekend off to a good start with no cigs or booze since Thursday evening :j
Hope everyone is having a good weekend?0 -

It's allowed on a drinking day but if I were you I'd make a cup of tea or go out for a walk now and then perhaps start again later. You need a break.:)
Not sure I can even drink like this anymore, must be becoming a lightweight. :rotfl: Feeling rather drunk but not in a nice way more a depressive way.2018 totals:

I know exactly what you mean. My tolerance has dropped hugely since I started having AF days. I can't believe I used to manage a bottle+ on a school night and then get up and function 'normally';) the next day.0 -

Help, help, help.... I'm facing a disciplinary meeting on Monday at 9am, which is entirely justified. I didn't do something that has serious consequences. All I can say in my defence is that I've been under tremendous personal stress, and that I assumed (rightly) that my line manager would pick up the action. Unfortunately, my line manager decided to act in a truly irresponsible manner and delete the task. The consequences are that I have to justify why I didn't report the task.
The manager was sacked last week. I may be sacked (God, I hope not), or maybe given a written warning.
I was told at 3:45pm on Friday that I face disciplinary at 9am on Monday. I was told I should be given 5 days notice, but they thought I'd want to get it over with as quick as possible. Part of me thinks "get it over with", part of me thinks I'm being steamrolllered.
Sorry so say, I've had a drink each night since Thursday, and even though it hasn't helped me sleep, I can't resist it.
On a great note, my niece has been told her MRI scan is clear, after her recent pancreatic infectionWhat would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Oh satchmo, I'm feeling for you. Having a drink, under the circs, is perfectly understandable.
Obviously, I don't know the details of procedures in your line of work but having 5 days notice is normal in my experience so you could probably put it off if you need more time to prepare. Have you been told you can take someone with you like union rep, a colleague or a friend? That too is usual. If not, it may be at an investigational stage at the moment while they decide if there's a case to answer.
The upside is that as the manager has been sacked so they've obviously decided already that she acted unwisely. I'd advise that you hold your hands up and apologise for an error of judgement and plead extenuating circumstances in terms of the stress you've been under (proven by the time you've been given to work from home and only recently returned to the office).
Try and get some sleep or go for a run tomorrow. At least try to have a clear head for Monday.:A
