    hi all,

Thank you for the support:). Tonight is my last night on holiday & I had a glass of wine with dinner:o

OH & I then went to the bar and I had 2 teas:). I've left OH at bar as I never want to feel as bad as I did last week. The glass of wine with dinner was a habit rather than anything.

Holiday ends tomorrow so will start again

I am so, so glad I didn't have wine last night as I have managed to get food poisoning and feel absolutely wretched. If I had had wine, I am certain that I would be feeling even worse than I already do.

Needless to say I am AF tonight so that makes 6/15 for me please, Shaggy.

I have also felt much too rough to smoke so I am thinking this may be a fabulous opportunity to kick that nasty habit too... We will see, but at the moment I feel positive :A

Well done to everyone who has jumped back on the AF wagon :T

Oh well, every cloud and all that! Hope you're feeling better very soon.:)

Many congratulations Alex and just think of all the money you're saving.

Agree that a lot of drinking is habit munchin, plenty of room on the wagon for you too.

Pleased to say I got an AF night in tonight.

    5 AFDs please Shaggy.

I definitely agree with a lot of drinking being habit. I always crave a glass of wine with my evening meal and a nightcap just before bedtime then I remind myself it's not the weekend yet. Saving lots of money and I am meant to be not drinking on doctors orders also, mind that hasn't stopped me before. :o

  • Not doing so well folks :( and feeling very down this morning. What had started on a high a couple of weeks ago when I admitted to myself that my drinking was becoming a problem again and I cut out/cut down to only 1 drink at night, only lasted 4 days due to allowing myself to go back to old habits that weekend. By the Monday, when I should have had the strength to try for some dry days again, I just kept going, you know how you can always justify it....bad day at work, rubbish weather, nothing on the tv !!! I'm not sleeping very well again and beginning to look bad in the morning, baggy eyes, headache etc. This cant go on but I cant seem to resist that drink at 7pm. Help !

I see where you are coming from maggiesoop - I used to drink every week night - even if was just one - and then have quite a lot more at the weekends :( it really can become second nature after a while.

Is there anything else you can do at around that 'trigger' time in the evening to try and get past it - I found that once I had got to a certain point in the evening I decided that it was either too late to be opening a bottle or that I actually didn't really fancy it after all. I have started eating my tea a bit later than I used to as I would only ever have a drink after I had eaten & cleared up - now that is later than it used to be I can usually get by without feeling the need for a drink.

Hope you are feeling better today Fruball?

Congratulations Alex - sounds like you are on a roll.

Another AF for me yesterday so that makes 3/10 for the month - thanks Shaggy.

Have a good day all :)
