I've let myself down tonight :(. Had a drink (well 3) after a particularly stressful "conversation" with Mrs. K.'s family, now I'm really regretting it.

I am guessing you are here for the long term lifestyle change, not the short term fix? We will all have our ups and downs, our successful days and our failure days. The point is that we are here because we recognise that we need to control our drinking and by realising that, we have taken a HUGE step in the right direction. One small failure doesn't mean WE are failures. Jump straight back on the AF wagon tomorrow :) and don't beat yourself up :)

Thanks to those who asked if I was feeling better. Yes! Thank you. Food poisoning is awful but it did give me an extra AF day so every cloud and all that ;)

Sadly I have smoked today and had wine too but tomorrow I hope will be AF.

    Love to all x

  • Slinking back in after a good 9 months away....

Some of you might remember me from before.

Did the Drylathon in January, then it all went a little bit t**s up. But I have now signed up for GoSober October in aid of Macmillan Support.

A cause close to my heart after losing mum one and a half years ago. Seems I have to have a goal in order to cut out the booze.

Anyone interested in joining me this October?

I hope everyone is ok and is coping with where they are in the alcohol scheme of things xx

    Hi all

I'm back home and hopefully this will make getting on that wagon a wee bit easier:).

Yesterday was my first AF day - 1AF/18. OH was a nightmare as he insisted I have a final glass of wine but I just said I would prefer a soft drink - OH drinks quite a bit.

Had wine last night. Feel dreadful. I can honestly say I have turned a corner and am really looking forward to an AF weekend!

    Hi All,

We had friends over yesterday evening and got an Indian takeaway so I ended up having 1/2 lager and one glass of wine - so even though it wasn't AF for me it was still a lot less than I used to have so still an improvement ;)

Maman - don't stress about this week - as you say 'next week will be better' and anyway - it sounds like you have been having fun :rotfl:

Alex - it happens to us all - don't beat yourself up about it - just jump back on the wagon - fingers crossed for you today ;)

Gien - sounds like your head is in the right place - wish mine could join you :o

Fruball - glad you are feeling better and you are so right in what you said to Alex :T

Rachel - welcome back - I lost my Mum & Mum-in-law to cancer too - although I have never tried going a whole month without any alcohol - I wish I could but I'm not sure if I could that :(

Munchin - sounds like you have the same problem as me - an OH that does like a drink and tries to persuade me to have one too

Have a good weekend everyone - AF or otherwise :j
  • Hi all

    6AF please Shaggy

Good to see you Rachel, a target always helps!

    Has anyone heard from 41?
