Morning (just!) :hello:
2 more AFDs for me.
Nearly the weekend...
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
Hi all,
I would like to join this challenge please. I fell by the wayside very quickly in jan:o. I've been on hols the last few weeks and got drunk last tues and spent the following day wishing I was dead. Drink just brings me down so much - I don't drink tons but if I overdo it the black cloud that lands on me is ridiculous. I'm starting by not drinking the rest of the month. Thank u all for the support of this thread:)
Pushing out thefor you. How many Alcohol free days would you like to aim for? There are 19 left.

5AF please Shaggy
maggiesoop - when I first joined this thread I concentrated on losing weight(ahem, attempting to!), I joined my fitness pal and spent my time recording the food I was eating - it passed the time!0 -
maggisoop, distraction has to be the way forward for you. What I do is go out on Monday evening to a dancing class. I'm driving and there's no booze involved. That gets me through Monday and then on a good week I'm fine until the weekend when I do drink. That's my plan. If you can't go out just keep telling yourself (I literally used to talk out loud to myself) 'I'm not going to have a drink tonight'. Make yourself cups of tea/coffee/chocolate, have a pampering bath, just keep stopping yourself until the danger time is over. Honestly, it does get easier eventually.
HOWEVER, this week has been an absolute disaster. I've only had one AF day.
Briefly, September is a very social month for us with lots of family and friends birthdays. Today was going to be good but SIL/BIL called by with gifts and cards for DH (his birthday Saturday) and they stayed to lunch and......
Next week will be better.0 -

Hi Shaggydoo
Can you put me down for 18 and that will give me 1 to play with:)0 -
Thankyou so much to everyone who sent a message. You are absolutely right about distraction, that was what got me through that initial period. I just have to get into the right mindframe again...0

I've let myself down tonight
. Had a drink (well 3) after a particularly stressful "conversation" with Mrs. K.'s family, now I'm really regretting it.

Another day over and I am declaring an AFD here, so I think that puts me on 8 for september[/COLOR
I am feeling quite good being AF actually, much more clear headed and decisive, and energetic too!
I have to remember that it is up to me whether I drink or not, I don't have to just because it's Friday, or Saturday, or because I don't have to get up early etc.
Have a good eveningTrying to keep in budget.
