:TThat's very positive. There's always the worry that you can be AF during the week then play 'catch up' at the weekend and cancel out the good work. I've found, over time, that my tolerance has dropped so I drink less on planned 'drinking days' than I ever did before.0 -

Thank you for the encouragement.
Until last week I was up to a bottle of wine and a couple of generous measures of Scotch a day. This week I've managed to have 1/2 bottle of wine on Saturday, 1/2 bottle today (shared with wife). Also today I had a brandy laced coffee and a small measure of Scotch.
Because I suffer from depression, I had been advised to cut down the drinking on numerous occasions. However, I never had the willpower until my wife and I basically decided to changed our lives (for money reasons).
Fingers crossed I do as well next week.2018 totals:

Checking in with 2/10 AFDs. Actually managed to drink alcohol free spritzer after a ding dong with a neighbour last night, it's only now it's dawned on me that having the drink to calm down after dealing with someone who was clearly trollied would have been a tad ridiculous but it was my first instinct. Last Sunday I had a drink and Monday was a disaster, today is ok actually, it's still Monday but I've not made any mistakes yet!! My hubby is on nights this week, it's not something he's had to do as a week long thing in the 11 years we've been together so it'll be a test of my will power to shift my backside up to bed instead of on the sofa otherwise I know the wine gremlins will take over.
Hope everyone's had a good weekend and has a great week.Battling booze, bulge and bills.

Hi everyone,
Got back from holiday yesterdaywent up to the Essex coast for the week and had the most glorious weather - 30 degrees on Thursday :j.
Have not had any AF days so far in September but was not expecting to while I was away.
Back to it today and aiming for my first AF today - will report back tomorrow.
Welcome to all that have joined/returned to the thread while I have been away.0 -

I'm sure you can do it! Why not plan a good pampering session and an early night. Have some comforting hot chocolate instead of the wine. Good Luck!
Glad you had a lovely break sukey. 30 degrees seems a long way off now.:(
I'm out for supper tonight and tomorrow night. Tonight will be moderate, tomorrow I'm not so sure. Definitely back on the wagon for Wednesday.0 -

Evening - tonight is AF for me so I think that's 5 or 6 now to hit my target i think I will have to have the rest of the month as AF! There's a challenge for me.
I told my boss today that I won't continue after the end of my probationary period - the whole situation is too overwhelming for me. Anyway, I now have to make sure that the discipline I've learned from this episode continues.Trying to keep in budget.

Oh dear, well I've only managed 2 AFD so far in September. Better than some months, but not as good as I was hoping for. I better knuckle down and... well, not drink for a bit!
I'm finding it hard to make time to read through all the posts on this thread, but when I do it's very encouraging!
