macpep sorry to read about your nanWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0

I decided a week or so ago that I needed to get my drinking under control as I was getting well into my second bottle of wine on a daily basis. The thing is I was no longer even enjoying it. So I decided to stop completely for a few weeks to give my liver a rest and then remain within the recommended guidelines.
I also need to pay off debts and the money saved on wine will go a long way to helping that!
I have unofficially recorded my AFDs in my sig - how do I officially join in for June? Sorry if it says somewhere but this is a long thread so I have jumped in at the end!
Thanks
FbFjust let me know your target for June and I'll put you on the list.

Thankyou for the supportive posts and suggestions. I contacted Jobcentreplus who told me that because he earns >17k gross I can't claim a bean, so I'm waiting for an appointment with the Carers Centre on the 17th June to maybe apply for Carers Allowance £59 a week, at present I get £110 a week ESA. If I lived away from my partner I would continue to get ESA, but I haven't got the strength to leave at the moment, but if the last couple of silent days are to go by, I will have no choice but to leave, I never thought someone could be so cruel and heartless. My dad's still in the nursing home 4 weeks today and we're still paying £120.90 a week til we know how much SS are going to pay towards it, more or less who knows. I will speak to the CAB, I can't renew my Child Tax Credit because you have to wait for the renewal form, I rang yesterday. So hey-ho, at least I'm not drinking or I'd really be screwed.
Tesco Credit Card £250 £25 DD 0% for next 10 months.
Barclaycard Initial £241.45 0% for next 7 mths.Your parents choose your beginning....

Well done 41, you are so strong - get all the advice you can, as soon as you can

Shaggy - thank you so much for including me in your progress report - indeed I have done 4 consecutive days AF but the actual figure for May is 5AF because I had last Wednesday as well (the day before my DH bought me the two bottles of red.
At that point I hadn't actually come out to him as wanting to be AF.
41 - sorry things are so tough for you at the moment, you've got enough to worry about with your dad and you're doing so well keeping on the wagon while dealing with that as well as your own situation.
I'm feeling a bit rough today but not as rough as I anticipated but I do think last nights wine has set me back physically around 2-3 days. I didn't actually enjoy the taste of the stuff until I was past halfway down the bottle but I was drinking out of habit.
I have 2 cans of lager in the fridge, I think I'll tip them down the sink, I don't usually drink lager and bought them for a friends husband but you never know, I might just knock them back.
I do actually like the taste of lager especially on hot days but I find no difference in taste between alcoholic and non alcoholic so I may just get a few bottles of Becks Blue for when (if) the weather gets any warmer.
