30 AFDs for me, 60 consecutive days. Tomorrow evening will be 2 months.
I'm considering opting out of June as I feel rather uncomfortable reporting the ease at which I'm abstaining compared to others struggles that I read about. It makes me feel a bit out of place and like I'm rubbing it in.
For me, it's always great to see other posters reaching their goals. Stay if this thread's still helping you... and also "the more the merrier..."What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Hi
Just been catching up on everyone's news as I have been away.
Hello to new peoples. Congratulations on joining. I am not able to reach my target but can declare 20/22 AF days including an early declaration of tonight's intentions. There is no way I would have done that without this board, so its well worth being here.
Went to stay in Devon for a few days this week. Its always hard to not drink in country pubs and while playing games in the caravan during the evenings, but I do have to declare something good. Not once (including the gig last Friday) did I over indulge! Not once did I wake up with a hangover/rubbishy guilty feeling. I am sooo pleased with myself, for my self control. I have never applied this word to myself in the same sentence as alcholol before and I am delighted to do so. And all because of you folks. Marvellous you are!:T
I am declaring a very high target for June. 29/30 AF days please Shaggy. My DH has warned me against it saying its too high and I might regret it if I don't reach it. What do you all think? I'd like a bit of advice on the matter as I am newer to this abstaining lark than most of you.
Thanks again to all of you for your continued contributions.
Kind regards

The Boss please don't go please. It gives me hope when I read how you're doing and when you tell us about how your days are going. Please don't feel you are rubbing it in, I would be gutted if you left honestly, I feel similar to you but I know that even though I have done okay this month it could all change, I don't want you to fall off the wagon, but please don't feel you fit in because you're one of us.
By the way I am 30 AF days this month, writing it down makes it real and its not bragging, I just can't believe it til I see it written down, and when I know I will be sharing my progress or non-progress it makes me want to do it even more, as I feel I can talk to you all because you understand.
The Boss I would love to know what you're up to so if you have time, it would be nice to know what's going on in your life and if things are not so good you are doing remarkably well, I know about your car problems but if you have good or bad news, I would love to hear about it. You are part of our one big dysfunctional family lol.

OMG nearly forgot, I will set a target for June total as I am an all or nothing person, I am aware that there is a cheese and wine evening in our church on 21st June and I am required to wear a cocktail dress lol (I am sure I will not be cocktail stick thin). But I haven't bought tickets yet and I'm not really fussed on going, as I'm on slimming world and cheese and wine are syns, but mainly because I don't want to feel pressurised into drinking, I know I can get some AF wine, but I don't usually like the taste of wine, so what's the point. Anyway, I lost a pound last night, making a total of 11 lbs in 5 weeks, and feeling so much better due to AF and healthy eating, my BMI is now 33 and I'm still obese but my liver is probably patting me on the back, metaphorically speaking lmao.

Congratulations on your 2 months boss. I'm sure no one feels you're rubbing it in. If it's helping, stay. You're very welcome.:)My DH has warned me against it saying its too high and I might regret it if I don't reach it. What do you all think? It's great to feel 'normal' isn't it slowdown?;) I think the target you set will depend on how you'd feel if you didn't reach it. Some people are happy to be aspirational and challenging and aim high knowing that they did their best even if they don't reach it. Others (like me) feel more comfortable meeting a modest target and then trying their best to add in 'bonus' days. HTH.
My usual 10AFDs for June please Shaggy and a great big :T for keeping us going. You're a star!!0 -
Stay around please and continue to post (like I do).

I (and others) look forward to many more posts by you !.30 AFDs for me, 60 consecutive days. Tomorrow evening will be 2 months.
