The point of view that parking companies serve no useful purpose. They obviously do if you are a landlord or are paying rent on a parking area. Otherwise companies would not use them.
So putting an invoice on a screen helps does it ? The many thousands of posts here suggest not. Parking companies have no purpose as they manage nothing, cameras on entry/exit helps nobody, and if no adjustment made for disabled users quite possibly illegal.
And if invoices magically improved things, why is it people are still getting them ?When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

So why do landowners and retailers use them?
Because they are sold a line like this
'We will sort out your parking problems, and ensure you comply with the Equality Act 2010'
Then they realise like Somerfield v Parking Eye how disastrous that isWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

I know of a large retail park, lots of shops, restraunts, cinema ,bowling, gym ect.
PPC have infested it (parking eye) Cameras on the exit and entry points, they have imposed a maximum 2 hour limit!
How is that going to help retailers and buisnesses on the park?
Its just Parking Eye greed and nothing else!0 -
So it appears that major multinational retailers are incapable of setting up a contract that shows any benefit to themselves. That is obviously rubbish.0
