    Were lockable posts ever tried?
Council would not allow any physical restrictions due to some sort of listing or planning issue.

How can clamping be fair where modern day highway men held you to ransom ? The thing about car parks is that landlords and landowners should have got their house in order years ago instead of passing their obligations to thugs and companies that don't manage anything.

Now that obligation is back with the people who own these car parks they will need to invest money if they value the space outside their front door.

The only way that these companies make money is by leaching off the customers of the businesses they profess 'to protect' , they would go out of business if they only went after people who were not customers.

It was truly never an issue, all tenants were given window stickers, visitors would be given a stciker at reception. If a tenant did not put the sticker in their window, more fool them. The signage was very clear. The only problems came from the people who had no right to park there. It worked very well in this case.

So you practically admit then that if people didn't put a sticker on their window they'd get clamped, so say there was a delay in doing so for whatever reason they'd get done. And these are customers ! Like I said previously give the exact location and I will probably find someone who was clamped there who were customers.

    Getting back on topic....

I'm 100% in favour of the DVLA selling our information to registered PPCs. Why?
    1) More money for the DVLA means more money in the public kitty - good for all of us.
    2) Less money for the PPCs because they're paying for stuff.
    3) Not if they can do anything useful with it anyway.
    Can I help?

Yes, that is why it worked so well, simple and effective. It was actually bought in at the request of the tenants.

I am not going to post on an open forum where I used to work.

Doubt if many had an issue as it was a small carpark at not on retail premises but office space, customers seldom visited

In that case they should charge them £10 for each RK details they get, if they don't prove they have pursued this through all possible means including court they should be charged whatever they are trying to claim off the driver, for example in most cases £100.

You said there was several businesses there so you are not saying where you worked are you ? And thankfully the sledgehammer clampers have gone never to return! Now if your former employers have any reason to value their parking spaces they must do something that doesn't involve thugs, what a model company they must be!

I for one am fed up with ILW hijacking threads and spouting a load of rubbish...making out we want a parking free-fror all and now defending clampers...not only that he mentioned the scummiest place in the UK, Croydon, so methinks this is the mad ramblings of a Palace fan.

I shall laugh at his posts from now on. :p:rotfl:
