    The night before's takeaway.....?

Not totally the same thing, but DD has often taken in a slice or two of cold cheese and tomato pizza to school from the night before's supper :o:D.

Today, DD(9) had two rounds of garlic and herb philly sandwiches, a laughing cow triangle, yoghurt tube, pot of blueberries, two plums, hot pepperami, two mini scotch egg things, half a bag of tikka fridge raiders and a breakaway. Also an apple for morning break.

DS(7) had one round of ham sandwiches, yoghurt tube, half a bag of tikka fridge raiders, hot pepperami and a chocolate muffin. He takes a bag of apple slices and grapes for break (he normally takes a whole apple but he's missing his top two front teeth at the moment so he can't eat them. :rotfl:)

As you can see, I have one child who needs a forklift truck to get her lunchbox into school, and the other one eats like a bird. DD would eat twice as much as I can cram into her lunchbox and she's like a rake. Mondays and Fridays are crisp days, if they're good, and DD normally has a babybel cheese (she was a mouse in a previous life) as well but we didn't have any today. DS also likes little bags of fruit button/bites things but we haven't got any of these at the moment either. DD likes the yoghurt covered dried fruit. Also, if they don't eat what they're given (not a problem for DD!) then they don't get a chocolate biscuit the following day.

They have vimto squash in a small bottle each to drink (their current fave).

Eldest DD has a selection of:
    Hummus and crackers
    Potato salad
Pitta bread with cheese and mayo
    Tuna sandwiches
    Pasta salad
    Tomato (large or cherry)
    Fruit (usually apple)
    Cereal bar
    Sun Dried Tomatoes
    Chicken sandwich
    Cheese and mustard scone

Not all at the same time but these are the usual suspects found in her lunch.

DD2 has.... School dinner, as she prefers it!

Cost is minimal, no way i'm paying £20 a week for them to have school dinners!!

Same here - £2 a day doesn't sound much, but £80 per month does!!

This made me think of a Pinterest post I have been meaning to try, push spaghetti through hot dog type sausages and cook, the spaghetti cooks through the sausages, it looked fantastic :T

I can nominate, seen in one of the local schools round here...

Half a chocolate easter egg and three dry Jacob's cream crackers

That was IT - nothing else in the lunch at all.

Its not just about weight though is it, some people just have high metabolism or extra active.

The fact is thin people have heart attacks too and viseral fat around the organs is present in thin people too, sometimes even more so.

That's why I said '(for now)'.

There is a kid in my child's class (Y1) who probably survives on similar :(
I have friends who the second their children get our of school offer them sweets/ chocolate/ crisps and then wonder why they struggle with their child's behaviour. I also know a woman who is/was a slimming world leader who gives her children H@ribo before school
