My son has....
2 sandwiches with either peperoni, ham, cheese or paste on.
1 packet of crisp or cheese spread and breadsticks or cheese and crackers
1 piece of fruit, strawberries, grapes or banana
1 bitesize muffin, 2 biscuits or a small cereal bar or sometimes he will have the crisp and cheese and crackers instead of sweet treat.
In summer I will include HM pasta salads instead of sandwiches.
Cordial in bottle.
Total cost is approx £3.70 per week for full packed lunches shopping at Aldi, he does occasionally have a school dinner usually on a friday or if it is very cold.0 -
My son had a Chicken, lettuce and salsa sandwich (his choice!) made with the thins thingies as he's not keen on bread, a small bag of dried fruit (can't remember what but it would have been either mango, pineapple or dates) a slice of homemade banana and date bread and a club biscuit!
He's allergic to most fruit and since he started secondary school won't take chopped vegetables as he says everyone laughs at him! It's not the healthiest lunch box, but I try and make up for that when he's home with healthier breakfasts and tea!2013 Alphabet challenge: A[STRIKE]B[/STRIKE][STRIKE]C[/STRIKE]DEFGHIJKLMNO[STRIKE]P[/STRIKE]QR[STRIKE]S[/STRIKE]TUVWXYZ

Today DS8 had cheese sandwich, 5 chicken fridge raiders (ie half the small bag), pack of sultanas, yoghurt pouch, an apple and a carton or orange juice.
The apple or sultanas will have been eaten at breaktime."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0 -

DT's (6yrs)
1 x WHITE bread and butter. 1 x crab stick (0% crab in there). 1 slice of cheese. 1 slice of garlic sausage. 7 grapes. 1 bitesize muffin. Bottle of heavily diluted high juice squash. Wont give them sugar free as dont think aspatame is a good idea. The fruit has natural sugars anyway so what's with the chemical sweetener?
DT2 was floppy for the past few days and hadnt eaten much so I piled in some junk that I knew he would at least try. I don't majorly do 'super healthy' lunches. They still get fruit at school and I will put another piece or raisins. Sometimes they get crisps, sometimes not. Tomorrow they are having sausage and ketchup sandwiches. Now THAT is slummy!0 -
Both had 2 slices of hm cheese and tomato pizza, cherry tomatoes, grapes and a yoghurt.
DD also had a slice of hm banana bread and DS had a hm lemon tart. They both take water to drink, DD took a banana for playtime, DS is in reception so fruit and milk are provided.
Tomorrow they are having cold meatballs and tomato pasta, a slice of garlic bread, grapes and a little pot of jelly (make it up and divide into little tubs to set). DD will take an apple for playtime.
Cost is minimal, no way i'm paying £20 a week for them to have school dinners!!
