Did you have PPI on the mortgage ?. If so and you haven't claimed on it, then you might be able to do a PPI reclaim to get some cash back.
Hi patman99, Yes I was sold PPI on the mortgage and since going to the house I have all the paperwork from purchasing the house, so it may be possible to reclaim. I also have a letter that I originally sent to reclaim PPI on credit card that was returned to me by HSBC.Bedsit_Bob wrote: »So, what's the current position with TV Licensing?
Hi Bedsit Bob, I am now of no fixed abode so have cancelled my TV licence and recorded that I am not living at that address. Got an email stating that my current one expired last night, so they obviously have taken any note of my correspondence!
Now I have to go through the mountain of mail..

Sorry to read things have been up and down. I hope things are on the up again now you've seen some estate agents.
I'm sure you're getting different advice with regards to your house but make the right decision for you. Think through all your options and do what causes you the least stress. Not that I'm telling you what to do........:D

Hello, I thought I would comeback and post a bit of a update as so much has happened in the last 18 months and am clawing my way back again. So things got more up and down from last post but I have managed to cling on to the thin white line just. Depression got the better of me and what with all the stuff going on when I was living in London and a bit of a breakdown followed by the sudden death of my Dad. But it was the turning point although I didn't know it and couldn't see it! I moved back North to be with and help Mum and then started the long road to recovery that I am still on. Thankfully the medical care here is very good and managed to get some immediate support and am now hoping to have some more counselling as I have managed to stay off medication so far. On the financial front I have sold my house and come out with a bit of money but this will no doubt be swollowed up by my remaining debts, but I see this as hopefully a clean start once these are sorted. I am still struggling with coping with stress but taking it a day at a time thought it is hard to see light at the end of the tunnel at the moment. I am hoping to contact StepChange early next week to put wheels in motion again as I never managed to sort out my debt plan with them last time. One of the problems is that at the moment I am not fit to work but too well to get any state help so I am having to exist with no money but thankfully Mum is able to give me shelter and food I have talked to citizens advice but they advised me that I wouldn't be legible for ESA or that it would be too difficult and stressful to apply. But anyway I am here and trying to get back on the horse so to speak.. ...Calculating Debts0 I have talked to citizens advice but they advised me that I wouldn't be legible for ESA or that it would be too difficult and stressful to apply. You should be eligable for ESA. You have depression and that is certainly a qualifying condition.
My son has depression and hets ESA, so i am talking from experience.
If they will only give you ESA if you are on tablets, then get your GP to prescribe some. You don't have to take them, just use the fact you are on them to get your ESA sorted.Never Knowingly Understood.

Ask your doctor if he would be willing to sign you off. If yes then you can definitely claim ESA of £71 per week. There will be further hurdles down the line but this will give you a small income for the time being. Whilst there may be problems demonstrating your unfitness for work this is not something you need to worry about right now. Visit your doctor , get a sick note then ring the ESA claim line - it really is that simple.0

            Hello fantastiyk,
Thank you for your reply and good wishes. I am just starting to work through my SoA, but have to admit I am terrified of having to deal with HMRC as I know this is going to be a mountain. But I have made the first step and am ready to face the consequences what ever they are I am reading some really scary and encouraging stories here and trying to take strength from that. Try not to fear HMRC, Tom. I have dealt with them before and they really do try to help you spread what you owe. Just make sure you tell them of your situation and be ready with your SOA. You don't have to face this alone. National Debtline, Stepchange or CAPUk can help with practical advice and guidance. If you owe money to HMRC then this becomes a priority debt like council tax.DMP since August 2011

Hello all again! not been online due to computer saying no.. and a bout of blackness. I now have one back up and running but am having to go through all the usual backups updates etc. but am having to go through all the usual backups updates etc.
@patman I will see what I can do but am trying to be pill free at the moment and not sure how it will effect other things if I am medicated as you say don't have to take them but once you are registered as taking them..
@the going gets tough Thanks for that and I am going to make docs app to see what he says. Like I say at the moment I am being looked after and the thought of having to go through stressful interviews is daunting and not on the top of my list but some money would be helpful in also proof of income for paying other debts off.
@phoenixx Thanks for advice it has been or of the biggest worries for me and have been thinking that I can't move on in life and work till I have this sorted. I am going to seek help with this from one of the list you mention.
@byjimini Yes it is a journey! one I am still struggling up the hills but slowly step by step. Hopefully on a bit more level ground for the mo.....Calculating Debts0
