Hello and sorry for long reply from my last post! I'll try and keep this short, well things have been up and down, well mainly down. After being kicked out of flat and having to stay in a "hotel" My brother and SiL offered me a space on there front room floor. I lost the docs due to moving out of London to near Oxford and now commute into work every morning at 5:30am returning about 8pm in the evening. I have kind of being managing the depression, enough to get to work every day and keep the pennies rolling in, but the debt management has taken a toll for the worst. However with the help of my brother took the day off work and I called them again. And to my gratitude spoke to a very helpful woman how understood depression. Anyway cutting a long story short SW are going to deal with unsecured creditors and I am with my brother going to see if I still have a house with HSBC this afternoon! Also going to sign up with docs here as brother knows someone here who knows a sympathetic doctor in the village.. Also decided to stop working in London if I can and get a job in Oxford. STOP COMMUTING!!!!! and have some quality of life, hopefully.. I am meant to be applying for a job where I am but don't really want to do it, but haves said I will apply. Am thinking of having a break this coming weekend at parents just to get decent nights sleep, but not sure if I should spend 60 quid on a ticket. Also need to get somewhere to live as problematic living here not just because of the floor situation.
Anyway ding ding round two!!!!!!

Well I have faced the demons today and now know a) I am not going to jail for 2 months evaded council tax in 2010 which I have no recollection of! and last and this years money. Nearly fainted when heard warranty out for my arrest!
Secondly HSBC appt was so much easier than expected and still have a house just need to sort out the arrears.. and my overdraft with is now £2100!
So with the help of my brother one step at a time. I am also looking for a docs here to address the depression again as although I am managing to control it at the moment I don't want it to get any worse. I can't believe 3 months have passed since I first posted here and how life has been on a roller coaster. But seems like I am heading in right direction!...Calculating Debts0 -

At least you're dealing with it - head high and keep looking forward!

Thx for the thoughts HBS,

Helps having a lovely brother who is a :starmod:
Finally starting to think I might be able to keep my head above water.
And have decided I am not going to go back and live in London

Have read this whole thread from the start and wasn't going to just read and run.
Nice to see you are beginning to get on top of things. As you no longer have to fork-out £1125 rent per month, you should find it much easier to reduce your o/d and other debts.Never Knowingly Understood.

Thx patman99 for the kind comments,
It has been the help of people on this wonderful forum that have helped me get this far and also a wonderful brother who is a :starmod:! with who without I would probably be banged up in Hull prison if he hadn't helped me. I had a lightbulb moment the other day when I sudden realised that I can trace back 13 years to when it all started and how I now realise I was not behaving in a 'normal' way and no matter how much the family said blah blah blah it wouldn't have made a difference. So thanks to all the wonderful people on this forum and to those just finding there way, you can make it! as I am proof like many others..
So spent 1+hour on phone to HSBC mortgage department and now have an agreement with them to pay mortgage + £60 as agreed with SC it was a harrowing call that I had to hand over to my brother as the guy on the other end was very confrontational and kept on asking me why I was depressed and when my contract in June runs out how i am I going to pay the agreement. Anyway we got through it an had a half glass of beer to celebrate
as we had made two major steps that day.
It is a lovely day as I head into work on the 06:27 through the sun and mist..
Have a lovely day everyone and for the first time in a long time I feel almost human again!...Calculating Debts0 -
Oh well done 40+. It's great to have a brother like yours to help out when most needed. How dare the HSBC guy demand to know medical details! If it isn't too much strain on you, (and you have more urgent stuff to deal with of course), a letter of complaint would be in order.
Here's hoping the worst is now confronted and you have a clear path in view to the sunny uplands! GL with finding a job in Oxford and somewhere to live too.

Well done 40+. I'm so pleased you've got yourself back on track. And what a good job your brother has done.

Have just read some of your thread and wanted to wish you well on your DFW journey, it sounds like you have really made some good progress with it recently.
I know exactly what you mean about the bulldogs they use for mortgages in arrears in the bank telephone call centres. i recall a similar telephone call with an absolute a*se of a man who firstly asked me how much extra I could afford to pay. So I told him £xx, he said that wasn't enough as it didnt even cover the interest (this was for mortgage reserve account arrears which had been run up by my ex without my knowledge and we are now divorced with me keeping the house/mortgage/mortgage reserve arrears) so I asked him how much I needed to pay. He told me and so I said ok I'll pay that. He THEN proceeded to quiz me about how I was going to make these payments!!! I mean for goodness sakes, I said I'd pay what he told me and he still wasnt happy. very confrontational and not at all helpful or sympathetic to me and my new situation as a single parent with 3 children. I just dont know what these banks want from us. Oh yes I do... its blood isnt it.
Anyway, good luck on the next steps, will keep an eye out for your posts. xx0
