New Sort by End Date function

I've now edited all thread where someone had kindly posted an end date and also others where I've managed to find an end date myself, I don't do many comps though so if any of you lovely people have time to check out the remaining 30 or so I'll edit them later

Im trying to do it but still dont seem to get a date ending in order its just all higgledy piggledy dates ending, i seem to get alphabetical order both ways startin with a or other way round starting z maybe im being thick here someone put a link with a bit of date ending i think it may have been grannybiker, but at the end on dates ending 02/02 it seemed to go to ending march ive spent all day trying to get date ending soonest first to no avail so far and getting really frustrated with myself, someone mentioned prize finder and thats really easy to use but as someone else said its not got as many comps listed as there are on here i have no doubt this is the better site i just need to work out how to get a date ending soonest order. Is the button coming back that was there? so i just need to wait till its back? or do i need to fathom how to do the ending soonest? or is there no option now for getting a list with date order ending soonest?

you will get a few odd threads before all of the ones with an end date and it does go from 01/01 to 01/02 etc
you just need to sort the board as suggested and then jump through the pages until you find the date you are looking for an all the comps with the same end date will be together, this may not feel as useful to you as the 'end date button' we had for a short time, but that system had more cons than pros (read the thread about it to see what they were HERE)

Thing is some people are not internet minded...so for them its a palava to do without

Also as a former web admin myself, the if consumers cannot find or access what they require quickly and simply..they move on to another site.

sad truth is many a good site has disappeared or lost its top spot through poor administrative planning. I like this site been using for ages as a non reg.
but its one of many...as most of us have a portfolio of comp sites.

My advice to Admin..do both a "quick lookend by" button and keep the searchoptions set up that few seem to grasp for the more experienced user..thats my 2 bobs worth!

I see your point re speed & making it easy on new members or the less PC literate.
Maybe it is something that MSE admin will be able to implement in the future,without detracting from the experience that is provided to long standing users.
In all honesty now that Loquax has reduced its output I cannot think of a site that has the depth of comps that we have on here.
There is also the risk,unless you are very organised,that by using multiple comping portals primary entries will be voided by duplicate entries.
I think I'll be sticking with entering via one portal ie MSE :-)

The End date sort has gone, I don't know if its just me but I can't get it back Whats going on !!!

This is just rubbish I just don't see the point in continuing anymore like its not hard enough or confusing enough with all the bumping now I cant even sort by end date when this was the most useful thing about this site. I struggled before and was loosing the will to enter before I found the sort by end date now its gone already great!!!

MSE admin may,in the future,develop a end date sorter tool that appeals to the general membership of MSE comps.Until then I think you'll just have to follow all the tips & guidance that have been offered re sorting on dates/popularity etc.

At least we have all these comps to enter & maybe end date comping is not the way to go for you.Just plug away & when you see lots of green ticks you'll know you've got a few done.
