If you're monthly paid you need to consider shifting your DDs and SOs further back in the month.
But if you're weekly paid (probably not, because Monday would be a strange payday) there isn't an awful lot you can do!0 -
It looks like payments going into Lloyds accounts started yesterday but they have not paid out from their accounts. Which means they've probably prioritised and held onto as much money as they can. Ex hubby called this morning and was told the problem was resolved at 5pm yesterday but there is a backlog and all payments should be made today!...then again he was told that at 4pm yesterday too so I won't hold my breath!0

Made a payment this morning from my Lloyds businesss account to my Co Op personal account and it went through fine so new payments are working OK by the looks of it.0

Just sent £1 in both directions between Halifax and Tesco and worked normally.0

So someone c*cked up a software change at Halifax/Lloyds. Sh*t happens - nobody got hurt, no promise or law has as yet been broken.
Banks are legally obliged to complete payment instructions by the end of the next business day. In the current circumstances, that would be by the end of today (where payments were requested yesterday), or tomorrow (where payments were requested today).
Since you are so perfect, trinidadone:
Do you mean £15.00 ?
...there was no information on their website
...it's the same
...their website
...their banking line
sorry if i have upset you in anyway!!! I am far from perfectthanks for the corrections
In regards to "no one got hurt" if you read the experiences of fellow MSE users, you would see the Lloyds group have handled this very badly.
Some people on the thread have reported salary issues. This is the first month after xmas, a really important month for many of us. One employer on here had to issue cheques / cash to there employees yesterday.
I see another MSE user reported on challenges receiving government credits in there account.
Lastly, many use the FP service for important payments, and therefore need to move money fast. Your right about the legal stuff, but yesterday the banks were giving little insight as to what the problem was or when it would be fixed. we even had time deadlines which came and went. Halifax was very poor.
Sorry again if I have upset you in anyway. I cant see the message where I have done that, but sorry anyway - I am a good man:):):):):):)
PS wish I was perfect, friends nowTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
The real issue here isn't with LLoyds/Halifax but with people having inflated expectations.
Payments need to have been completed by the end of a business day (which in some cases could be the next business day)- - and from what I can gather, all payments due yesterday were completed yesterday.
The fact that sometimes payments are completed a lot faster is neither here nor there. We do not have a right to expect payments to be completed instantly, or within 2 hours - - the only right we have is to expect the payments to complete by the end of the next business day.
The fact that some of you got a tenner or so when they rang CS is also neither here nor there - - in many cases it is a lot cheaper for the bank to just sling a tenner to the caller than to entertain them for longer.
This isn't to say it's not annoying / infuriating when a website doesn't do what it should do - - but it does happen from time to time. The world goes on.0 -
Halifax complaints just called me.
The case handler said she was going to push forward the idea of a update being posted on there website, so that there customers could be told of an issue in furture. I think Lloyds website had something.
The bank decided also without asking to up the compensation payment from £15.00 to £30.00, something about making a telephone call. I guess Halifax gave me something extra, thankyou HalifaxTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0 -
My mortgage payment from LTSB to Halifax is showing as having left my LTSB account last night but is not showing as been credited to the Halifax mortgage.
I rang the Halifax call centre this morning and was told there was nothing wrong and it must have been a glitch and to check tomorrow. This is annoying for me as it will result in an additional day of interest charges. I guess I'll have to write a complaint letter to get that back, but I wonder how many of their customers don't realise this?0 -
from what I can gather, all payments due yesterday were completed yesterday.
I have a standing order from Lloyds to first direct (to feed reg.saver). The order was scheduled for Saturday (19th), money left the Lloyds account yesterday (21st), but has not yet arrived at FD today (22nd). (A separate payment into Lloyds did get credited sometime yesterday.)
EDIT: dates corrected
The money isn't needed for the FD SO for a couple more days, so it's not a crisis yet. If it hasn't arrived by tomorrow morning I'll have to push money in manually and start asking questions.0
