I am fine but skint! Trying to make a big push back to OS as I know there's loads more I could be doing to make the pennies stretch, it's so lovely to see the old faces. It's been difficult raising the baby on my own but he's now coming up to three and I think I can get away with some more time spent in the kitchen now.

    Driving and meeting decluttered

Have just decluttered :coffee: and caught up with my emails and the thread.

macpep, sorry I missed your post earlier - we both added ours at almost the same moment! I'm very sorry to hear that your DH didn't get the job he wanted. Yes, do investigate the rules further: it can't do any harm.

Mumto5, great to hear that DS3 is managing without crutches today.

nicki, hope your DD's knee is OK.

Lovely photos, pigpen. My, how the boys have grown! Mind you, we'd all be worried if they shrank in the wash :rotfl:

I saw a green woodpecker as I drove out of our cul-de-sac this morning, and two red kites flew over me later in the journey. The garden birds are more in evidence today, now that it's up to 3 degrees and thawing, and the squirrels have obviously decided that eating bird food is more tempting than hibernation.

Still sitting here in my coat and nice warm scarf (thank you, Secret Santa!), but the house is warming up nicely now. Going to boil an egg for my lunch, then will tackle the bedroom and do the washing. Folk dance club is cancelled tonight (now that I've recovered from the chest infection, other people aka "core members" are unwell) so I will try to use the time to advantage and get on with listing eB@y - there's plenty more where the last lot came from :o

How do you all keep up? Hopefully I willlearn as I go along…
Don't worry about keeping up; sometimes the thread moves at a pretty smart rate of knots, and you just won't have time to read every post. Don't panic, we won't be offended. The whole idea is that you have as much fun doing your chores as you can, and you have company to do them. Try tagging on with a few HHC's (Half-Hour Challenges - whatever you can do in half an hour) and see how that goes.:o

Re Henry Vs Dyson: (sorry, brainfog, I've forgotten who asked the question): I've had both; I had a Henry years ago, which I liked very much, but I'm better with an upright cleaner these days as I can no longer bend as you need to to use a Henry, so the Dyson that Mr LW already had when I moved in with him (in 2002) suits me OK. It's a little heavy, but I find as long as I have a walking stick in my other hand, I can manage it fine. I deffo like a bagless system, too.;) I do find turning the handle bit on the Dyson into a cleaning wand very, very awkward, though - the rigid bit is too long, I feel I want it flexible right to the end, iyswim.
    HTH.

all rooms are "nicki tidy" (aka tidy enough I can dust, but some things that will be in use still left out but now tidy.
I do this sort of tidy, too; I've finally got through to Mr LW that if I leave something out that would normally be put away, it's because it's going to be used in the near future, and I'm saving myself a spoon or two in not putting it away just to get it out again shortly.:D Bless him, he used to put things away thinking he was being helpful, just to be told "I left that there for a reason.....":rotfl:

Juliejim good riddance to that tooth, by the sound of it.:o

I've sparkled the bathroom as best I can; acrylic shower screen has been polished with white vinegar - it comes up beautiful doing this!:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Louloucake I remember when I started the original flylady threads that everyone panicked and thought they would never be able to keep it up, the whole point of flyladying is that when you have a regular schedule of things to do, it never builds up and you actually spend less and less time every day doing housework. That's flyladying, it's not about spending all your time doing housework, it's about getting to a point where very little time is spent on housework, freeing up time for doing other more important stuff.

LOL, I left my flyladying thread in good hands obviously as it's still here. Working and raising a new baby by myself didn't leave much time for posting here, I looked in every now and again though.

I definitely need to do a 27 fling boogie in every room but it's a bit difficult when they only collect the bins fortnightly!
