  • Hi there

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and good health vibes to all those feeling poorly. Would you believe, I've just read through and can't remember who it was feeling yuck, with dizziness and a headache, (was it Dusty or GI!), but get well soon wishes from me. I do recall GI had done the potatoes for cottage pie - and I've done one too! A make it up as you go along recipe with Quorn and carrots, parsnips and potatoes in the mash, with a nice thick gravy layered through, and it's in the SC. I just thought I'd try something different and with lots of veg.

Had a quiet day here, S&S round after breakfasts, walked next door's dogs, made SC meal as above, then watched the rest of the Australian Open that I'd got recording. I won't spoil the result in case anyone is watching it later - but 'come on Tim!'.

We had a good blitz yesterday, and cleaned through, changed the bed, and I did 4 x WM and 3 x TD. OH did some joinery and we then did a big shop for us, the cats and to keep the birds happy, just in case the weather got bad again and we didn't want to brave the shops. We treated ourselves to lunch out and we were so full we only had fruit last night! I even did the ironing so I could have a restful day today! It's been lovely: lay on the bed, in the sun, with a pile of mags since 2pm until an hour or so ago, and nodded off for 20 mins.

Enjoying cuppa now and a read through here and the news, and will play a game for an hour, then an early meal, and the skating.

Bye for now, (and I hope Bossymoo's DS is having a good time!). R x

I too have been busy listing some items on ebay. DS is fed up of trying clothes on to see what still fits lol. Made Sunday lunch and hit Mr T's as we couldn't get out yesterday. This afternoon DH has replaced the washers in two dripping taps in the bathroom. I have cleaned up the mess that this job created! Got a mini ironing mountain but I am putting it off till Call the Midwife or Top Gear

bossy - I reckon you'll get a few years out of a midsleeper.
I've had 2 on the high sleepers - great for storing c**p underneath, but be warned changing the bed is like a military campaign...
I agree, DS is nearly 6 and has been in his mid-sleeper since h e was 2, its grewt for storing under as you cannot see it, ours too is a wooden one with drawers and a wee ouul out desk, DD is in a high sleeper, agsin wooder, we had The metal one with The futon but as piggers said, very squeaky , and it is a nightmare to change x

    Back from the outlaws..

    I am so very cross....

Decluttered about £300 of non-frozen freezer food after my oldest son raided the freezer while we were away for the weekend and left the door open...

He WILL pay me the money back if I have to sell his body!

He also sprinkled cat biscuits everywhere in the kitchen and left my back door unlocked all weekend!!! He thought he had killed the rabbit but I think he was just fast asleep or a bit cold.

Both WMs on, Babies fed, they must have been starving as they ate loads. Takeaway ordered for OH and me.

    Evening!

DS has had a lovely day, lots of fun and smiles, a lovely party, nice presents and everyone loved the cake. And it tasted good too! A success all round. He loves his photo book, and has taken it to bed with him. He said "mum I'm really big now, and do you know what m going to tell you?" So I replied "what's that, pup?" And he said "I'm going to sleep in my own bed tonight and I'm going to be really quiet so I don't wake up you and <DD>" bless him.

I've already chased DD back to bed twice. The first time she wanted a "big cuddle" and the second time the loo and a "little bit cuddle" lol. She too said "I do it myself sleeping" so I'm hoping she means the same and i'll have a nights sleep alone. Hmm. Fat chance...

Flying wise, I got them to put all the new toys in a box and into playroom, we'll sort them on Thursday. All the recycling has been put out, DW loaded and set, washed up rest that didn't fit, wrapped up all the leftover "afternoon tea" bits, collected all clothes and other gibble and deposited in correct homes, and had a quick tidy round upstairs.

Nursery bags are ready, as is my work bag. I'm in the office tomorrow, unusual for a Monday, and am too tired to do packed lunch, so will get soup or whatever from canteen.

Hopefully I can work from home Tuesday if I can switch a thing or two around. How else am I supposed to get my laundry done ;)

Anyhow. I'm off to find some pjs and get in bed. Am exhausted!
