Well, I've just sat down and tackled a confirmation e-mail which I've been putting off doing for over two weeks. It took me over an hour to get everything in a logical order, and then I decided to write out a timetable for it for my own records, but the job is done ......... until the reply comes back!
Going for a cuppa, then wonder if there is anyone around to join me for a HHC at about 3.30 pm? This is such progress for me.Work is not my Hobby0 -
I hope you had a good flight in your HHC, Mrs_B :T
I have eaten an enormous paper frog today and am soooooooo relieved to be getting back on track after what has felt like months rather than weeks of lacking concentration
Now about to start putting things on eB@y - photos are already done - and I hope to [STRIKE]fling[/STRIKE] find new homes for things that are cluttering up my house by passing them on to other nice people
DH is making a cuppa (he's just been out to fill up the car and has also checked the windscreen wash and tyre pressures :A and tonight's meal is simmering nicely in the SC for later.0 -
Ionafan well done on eating your paper frog today! Wish I'd have slung something into the SC to be honest but in my defence did leave the house at 9.15 for DD's riding lesson.
Also well done to you Mrs_B for sorting out the email :T.
I've eaten my own frog which was really only a tadpole as I cleaned the kitchen floor. Why on earth did I put it off for so long? It only took me 5 minutes with that cleaner you squirt on and then mop off and it looks sooo much better. If you see me squawking about it again just give me a kick up the backside!
My remaining stuff isn't bad at all:
Freaky Friday - Frightening Kids Rooms and Spare Rooms
Level Three
Dusting - all those flat surfaces which have become fuzzy!
Clean window, sill and frame
Extra tasks, if you have extra time and want to do more, you could try one of these- 15 minutes ironing
My jobs:
Homework with DD and DS
Chooks
Walk Pip
What’s for dinner: pork chops, mash and veg
Won't be walking Pip or doing chooks today as by the time DH gets back with DD it'll be dark. DS is still not well so taking care of him at the moment and the kids will do their homework tomorrow instead.
Won't be back on today - see you tomorrow and have a lovely evening!Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Just thought I'd pop up to say I'm back home. I was only away one night but I had a lovely time but now the anti- climax has hit and I'm feeling really down
I could feel all the worries hitting me again as I drove back down the motorway
So as you can expect "flying" is not high on my list of things I want to do todaySo I'm just going to catch up on the thread, watch some tv, declutter some comfort food (last chance, I've gone up a dress size and I'm not happy about it. Aim to start shifting it from Monday
) and spend time with DD2

Found my chequebook! Which is good, because the new savings account I've opened takes the initial deposit by cheque from a uk based account. I guess it's part of the verification. And I've ordered an ISA transfer form.
Feeling quite organised at the moment. Tomorrow, I'm going to see if I can book my stepdad in for a couple of days labour. He is a builder, and a very good one, but as with that kind of trade, everything around timing is a little flimsy. I decorated my bedroom last may, and he's been going to fit some skirting to where the old built in unit was. Having said that, he still hasn't finished my mums kitchen which he started last jan . But I've a few jobs that need doing.
Then I've got my mind on DS bedroom. I need to look at paint charts, but I think I have a fair idea of carpets and her wants Spider-Man accessories. His window is a bit of a dilemma. On the right, it's flush with the built in cupboard door, so there is no space for a curtain pole to extend past the window edge. He has vertical blinds on the inside of the recess, and an old track that looks awful on the outside, currently with Thomas curtains. I need to think this one through. His room is above the garage so can be cooler, so whatever it is needs to be insulated...
Then we are thinking of a mid-sleeper bed, one where he can have a den underneath, and then a desk when he's a little older. Are these sturdy enough for older boys? I want a decent one that won't need replacing in just a couple of years...
So much to think about!Bossymoo

Sorry you're feeling a bit fed up after a nice short break away; hugs. I'm also in need of losing a few lbs (almost a stone really!), not following any particular diet but will be cutting down on the cakes, treats, wine and reducing portion sizes. I find this generally makes a steady impact without me feeling hungry, cold, tired and grumpy! As the snowy, icy weather will hopefully soon be over I'm hoping to start running again and this really helps. Going to a family party this evening so nibbles, wine and cakewill get on the fitness campaign Monday....
DD's bedrooms done this morning, dailies all done, been to the library and youngest DD now has plenty of fresh reading material. Tomorrow will just be a quiet day at home; maybe put something in oven and go out for a walk along the river; I love coming in to the smell of something cooking
Have a good evening all, stay warm and safe x0 -
Have caught up with the list as much as I can.
Lamb casserole done in the slow cooker.
DDs boots taken to cobbler through the slush. I'm just glad it's melting
HHI done on the wii.
Just need to get the dishes done and kitchen tidied. Then a cuppa and tv.0 -
Bossy, my oldest son had a high sleeper until he left home so I'd say he will be fine in one for a good many years. The one thing I would recommend is getting a wooden one rather than a metal one. The metals ones squeak an awful lot.. NOT what you want to listen to with an older boy in  My oldest daughter had a high sleeper which we cut down to a midsleeper height when she was about 12 and complained about it.
I am so incredibly tired. We are at OH's mums.. freezing myself to deathI've been moaned at for not drinking enough cups of tea. seriously!! And moaned at because I didn't eat the beef they cooked for dinner, I'm not keen on beef tbh... now a nice bit of piggy would have gone down in a flash! lol I don't mean to sound ungrateful because I'm not at all.. I was quite happy with a huge plate of veg and yorkie puds.
Girls were awful last night, we've not been here since August and they went to bed really late.. Squeak at 11pm, she is usually down for 7!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
bossy - I reckon you'll get a few years out of a midsleeper.
I've had 2 on the high sleepers - great for storing c**p underneath, but be warned changing the bed is like a military campaign...:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Bossy I've just sold DS1's high sleeper on ebay. It was one with a sofa/futon/bed underneath. Only problem we found, other than changing the bed was that he got too hot high up in summer time with the heat rising and little air from the window. I'd say mid is better than high.
Fire been on most of the afternoon. I've achieved very little today and haven't even enjoyed relaxing and doing nothing as I have frogs to chew tomorrow. I have filed a few bits and will do a little more in a minute. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
