JJ hope it was a tooth you needed to declutter!!

Ionafan, hope things go well for you and DH, your new found strength and optimistic attitude will serve you well. hugs to you both.

ate a frog tonight instead of doing knitting or sewing while martial arts was being done. sorted out as much as i can of the insurance documents and letting agreement. just need 2 of the instructors to fill the parts i cant do in and sign them so i can get them sent off.

made fritters earlier to have for late tea/supper when DH gets back from 2nd session so if i can persuade DS2 to bung a film on ill iron for an hour

  • Good evening all

Thank you for the welcome message and quick post outlining how the lists and this threadwork; I’m sorry I can’t remember who posted it and now I’m in ‘Reply to Thread’ mode, I can’t see any other posts.... How do you all keep up? Hopefully I willlearn as I go along…

A little bit about me; I’m a part-time student (distance learning) and SAHM (I took redundancy from a full on, full-time job over a year ago), I’m married to DH and have two DD (17 and 11). We’re a bit short of cash sometimes but other than that we’re all healthy and happy :j Woohoo! First ever smilie used!

I’m so pleased that I found this thread as I have been Flying for about 8 months now and it has really helped me to gain control over the house and budget. But, I can get overly caught up with cleaning, meal planning and baking! Hence LouLouCake this is often to the detriment of my studies:eek:, and mywaist line:eek::eek:!
So, my plan is to make a few changes in 2013 starting with prioritising my studies. Weekends are for family stuff, one day each week for shopping, errands and meeting friends for coffee. That leaves 4 days per week to spend 4 hours (minimum) on academic reading and assignment writing. To make this work my plan is to get the daily stuff done first thing (SS, WM, DW, etc), followed by school run, which is usually the school cycle (not in this snow though!). Once home, shower, hang out the washing and put away the dry stuff. The rest of the things on the Flying list I will complete during a lunch break and early evening. It all seems so clear and simple now that I’ve written itdown! Maybe I should have done this sooner….:)

Anyway, this is a rather long post already. Looking forward to being a member of such a useful and supportive thread and I’ll try to workout how to use the various thread functions as I go along…

Hi Cake and welcome to you! Sounds like you've got it all organised. I too stopped working and am a SAHM although I do also do typing at home. There's no way I could go back to an office job! I look forward to getting to know you :). Everyone is really friendly on here and so supportive, whatever you're going through.

DD in bed, typing done, now ironing time. Think I'll fire up the iPlayer and watch Miranda at the same time; I love that programme! As for wiping the outside of the door, don't think so brrrr ;).

    Evening.
Work is mad. So busy. Starting at 7 tomorrow, hope I can get it all done.

DS was taken by inlaws to swimming lesson tonight, they were late back and I was getting worried. Anyway, all was ok. Put DS to bed and he said "mum I missed you at nursery" (aww) and I said "I'd missed him too but he'd had fun playing and swimming". He replied "yes and you thought I'd gone to heaven with daddy!" how on earth does he put these things together. MIL said she only mentioned "oh we should have called <bossy> she might be worried. He's a very intuitive little lad :A

    Hi to new starters, welcome!

  • Evening ladies, joining you courtesy of my mobile at the NHS Ritz....on the list for me tomorrow is to chill enough to keep my pain relief topped up rather than just waiting for this to be done or that to be done and then end up in agony while waiting for pain relief to kick back in.

Ds came to hospital promptly snuggled up next to me for his afternoon nap.....the same afternoon nap that he fights everyday at home.....so i take it he is missing me.

Where Holly had to go into Special care she has a great big sock protecting all the needles in her hand, so I had a declutter of all the clothes that i brought with me.....if they are not going to stretch easily over the needles and stuff, then they were bagged up new and clean and sent home for DD3 to file away to save a mad bungle when eventually we do come home.

All my dirty washing sent back with instructions to the EX on where they go and they should have a 5 metre EX mil exclusion zone, suitable Holly clothes marked to wash and return which he said he would honour.

EX mil will be gone by Sat am at latest, but keeps threatening to go home by bus, but the thought of delays on the buses cos of the white stuff keeps her from leaving the young skints in the lurch.

I have been given strict flying orders from physio today......nothing heavier than Holly to hold, no bending for DW, oven WM, td, no shopping trolleys, no hoovers, no pushchairs, no lifting saucepans of water and veg! And no dragging out rubbish.

I CAN have a shiny sink and S&S gently at waist height .

So DD2 and 3 can help out from the get go, but holly and i maybe home in the next 48 hours! Very pleased to be thinking about home.....see you all soon
The cold never bothered me anyway

It's amazing what the children pick up on isn't it Bossy. I find I have to be so careful what I say to DH in front of the kids as ears are always listening iykwim ;)!

DH is taking the day off work tomorrow to be with me :A - got the GP at 10 (I'm jittery about it) and then will just see. Probably will do a bit of shopping as running low on milk etc and I don't like driving on the ice. It's been snowing quite a lot here so really not sure if the school will be open tomororw - if not we're going sledging :).

Going to get ready for bed now so putting my list up in a vain effort to be organised (for once!): Goodnight all zzzz

Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One
    Clean floors

Wonderful Wednesdays - Master Bedroom & Landing
    Level 1

    Remove and wash bed linen.
    Level 2
Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs..
Vacuum mattress before replacing with fresh linen, air the bed if possible
    15 minutes floordrobe clearance
    Level 3
    Vacuum floors in bedroom
Sort linen storage making sure only what should be in there is, anything that's had it's day or doesn't belong there is removed

Extra tasks list, as usual choose one or more

    • Clean windows in these rooms
    • Check the airing cupboard, anything that is way past it's use by (maybe recycle for rags if possible, you could donate old sheets or towels to a local animal rescue for bedding)
    My jobs:
    GP at 10.00 with DH
Start party wall work for Paul
    Clean out chooks
    Walk Pip
    WM – our bedding
    Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting
  • Well spent 45 mins clearing drive and pathway of snow. Did neighbours bit of pavement too so they had clear walk to their car. Came inside, then it started to snow again. All covered now....they must be expecting it to be bad they've just put a small snow plough up and down the road. And we never get gritted despite the village school being on this road. Well tomorrow is another day. Good night all
