Hello everyone
Hope Skint and Holly Kara are doing OK today - thinking of you both.
Well done to LW, kazwookie (did you hear the drum roll?) and CY on your achievements. Yes, CY, I think that training your DS so well is a major achievement!
Mumof2, roast chicken is my favourite too, but we're having stir fried turkey with rice tonight.
Thanks to all who sent kind messages and positive thoughts re my DH. There's good and maybe not-so-good news. We met with the mental health consultant this morning (an amazingly young woman for that position - or is it just me that's getting old?) and she went through his MRI result in detail. There is nothing seriously wrong at present; however, he is to be referred to the Old Age Psychiatry team, who might want to carry out further tests - but this MH consultant does not want to see him again, so we swap one set of health care professionals for another. DH is a bit upset because he's afraid I might end up caring for him in the not-too-distant future, and he's also now thinking that there might be types of job that he should not now apply for (eg where he has to learn new systems from scratch). I am of the view that I married him for better, for worse, in sickness and in health, and we should live each day we have to the full; and that until he is given a different diagnosis, he should carry on applying for jobs as before. Usually I'm the pessimist while he's the optimist, but we appear to have reversed roles! The only thing that I am certain of is that I definitely want to move sooner rather than later, back nearer to DS1 (I moved 100 miles away from my children when DH and I got married 3 years ago), and I want us to be able to see the DGC more frequently than we do at present because they bring us great joy
Unsurprisingly, flying has taken a bit of a back seat again today, but I have crossed a few small tidying and cleaning items off my list, done a major shop, and taken the 5 bags of bits to the CS and 4 single blankets and 2 pillows which were excess to our requirements to the Salvation Army. The decluttering mission continues: I am now going to put 5 items on eB@y before I cook tea, and hopefully 5 more later this evening.
Decluttering :coffee: is never a problem here, Natty!0 -
Please may I join in?
I've never joined an online forum before so this is just a quick message to check that I'm fully registered and operational. Making tea at the moment (Toad in the Hole) so will come back later to add a bit more about me and my Flying journey....

welcome LouLouCake,
the lists are always on the first post of each thread a new thread is started each week with a link for it at the end of the old one
lists arent written in stone you do as much or little as time health family and other commitments allow or make your own list and follow that
posting lists and crossing things off or popping in to say what youve achieved has certainly helped me keep on track.SPC~12 ot 124

Ah - evidence of an alien invasion - they have taken away the real Mr. Yorkie (junior) and subbed him with a robot;) :rotfl:
Today I have emptied DW (run in the wee small hours) and the drier, - washer emptied in the wee small hours and contents transferred to TD; emptied when I got up.
Am about to empty maiden of aired ironing and fill it again and fill the washer again.
*sigh*
Still
THURSDAY already and TOMORROW'S FRIDAY!
ie last paid working day of the week!:pDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Talking about alien invasions, something strange happened to me as I voluntarily wiped down the scales after I used them - even though I didn't have a list in sight *thud*. What are you lot doing to me?
Roast chicken went well and honey, lemon and yogurt cake. Washed up, DS in bed and DD going in 5 minutes time. We've had snow this evening and more is forecast so I think I'm going to have to do the typing job I had sent in earlier this evening just in case the kids are off tomorrow.
After that it's ironing time but only about 8 things to do because I'm so good now I don't let it mount up :A.
Ionafan, thanks for update on DH - will have to wait to see what the other consultant says. I always think it's better to be forewarned of things that may happen so you can make plans in advance rather than it being sprung on you at the last minute. You sound like a lovely, very supportive wife and DH is very lucky to have you.
MrsMoney-Penny, like Dusty, I remember that advert too but no matter how many launderettes I've been to (admittedly not many) I've never seen any [STRIKE]hunk[/STRIKE] young man strip to his boxers
Time to declutter DD to bed and then back to typing ...Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0
