  • Ok so a quick run through of what payments have gone toward debts in the last 3 months, some of these payments have not actually been made yet but the money is sat in my accounts just waiting to go out.

    Here goes...

    1. £1025 to the BC, this doesn't include the extra I'm paying toward my car insurance which I BT'd across to 0% (this is however incorporated into my DFD!!)

    2. £600.21 to my Santander loan, just 6 more payments to go after this month!!

    3. £75 minimum payments to NW. This will get hit hard next year when BC has gone and potentially when the loan is gone too.

    4. £183.57 on my laser surgery loan which I haven't really included in this entire diary as I consider it an optical bill. Happy days when it disappears in a year!!

All together I'm getting that at £1883.78 which is 46% of my wages :o So far throughout the whole year I have paid off £5316.34, just think of the things I could have bought with that?! Or the house I could be working towards buying?!

    Must keep going.

  • Thank you for your kind words HOK3Y! I've just read your thread about keeping positive and it's made me realise I should just quick moaning about my lot (for today at least :o)

I have a job, it pays more than enough to get by and I think it's my own little head creating more problems with it than necessary so I should just get over it and be thankful I'm able to work and earn.

I also need to stop moaning about not doing much at the moment - it's not like we do absolutely nothing, I don't sit at home all day and night, 7 days a week so I should just be glad I'm in a position to make inroads on my debts yet still maintain some sort of a life.

And then there's the feeling all sorry-for-myself because of the debts. I spent the money, I was the idiot who lived beyond my means and now has nothing real to show for it and I was the one who didn't consider my immediate "future" and that perhaps I would very much like to buy my own house by the time I'm 30! Still, I've paid over £5K off the debts so far and that doesn't include the student OD I got rid of at the back-end of 2012. This is nothing but a good thing!! Just got to keep plodding on. My DFD can only get closer!!!

  • So an NSD weekend for me, not done much tbh, just got back from lunch in town which BF paid for. He's been playing his GTA game all weekend so I've been able to chill out! (Read- laze around doing absolutely nothing!) I went for a run yesterday which was the first this week since I've been full of a cold. That means I've only done two exercise sessions this week tut tut! :o

Feeling less mopey about money saving, BF has been really good and been very encouraging over the last couple of days. Bless him he's such a patient soul. I've not got long to go now, a good 6 months and I could be pretty much done and dusted with all the debt!! Then it's a nice holiday and saving big time for our house and puppy!! Woop :j

You sound really positive! That's great! You are very blessed to have had your LBM in your 20s - lots of time to turn your life around financially and with your positive spin on it all, it will happen before you know it! :) Plus it doesn't hurt you to have a BF who supports you. :)

    Hey debtfreeby30!!!!

Glad you are feeling better about debt-busting and have to give you a high-five for being a certified member of the GTA5 widows club!!!!! I think I spoke to my OH for a total of 15 minutes across the whole of the weekend and that was focused on what he was going to eat and how great GTA was!!!! The best 45 quid either of us has ever spent!!!! :) It'll get even better next week I'm sure when the multi-player online version is released!! Gangs of men ignoring their women in tandem! :rotfl:

Oh - I envy your get-up and go for running - I feel a bit flabby at the moment and am considering a gym membership! Eek - tricky decision but I need a driver to motivate me and eugh I am one !!!!!! jogger!!! :rotfl:

PS - get your OH to download the GTA app for the iPad/iPhone etc - ifruit! It has a dog you can train - like a tamagochi but your OH will love you because you play with it and you earn HIM points in the game!!!! My OH is making me play it! You know - to compensate for not giving me a real puppy!! :rotfl:

    have a great evening!!

    xx

Thank you again HOK3Y! I am very lucky to have such a lovely BF, he's going to pay a bit towards this coming months food bill (I usually pay home stuff and he takes care of things if and when we go out) so that should leave me with some spare cash in my October monthly spends budget to put towards the BC. Need to make sure I'm disciplined and don't just spend more money because he's giving me extra!

    Hello CR!

What a great idea about training the GTA doggie! I've just been leaving BF to it tbh and messing around on my newest distraction Pinterest! It's great for just browsing pics and ideas. The minutes seem to pass very quickly when I'm on it!!

I've been out running twice this week - I enjoy it when I actually do it. I've always found in the past that when I join the gym I go for maybe 6-8 weeks and then I'm left paying for something I never use! I've finally learnt my lesson on that for sure! You can get loads of exercise videos online and I'd certainly recommend giving the insanity schedule a go. I've never sweat so much in my life!! You have to stick with it though and I didn't lose tons of weight so my motivation waivered but at least I'm getting out running for now! One day I'll be slim and less chubby! Well, maybe!

  • Nothing much else to report, not spent any money recently as I haven't had any and I'm just waiting for my fixed DD to leave my account so I can update my signature! On a positive note I have been roped into doing a couple of overtime shifts this weekend so that's say few extra pennies in my pocket to go toward the BC. That £3k target is guna get smashed to pieces!!!
