I'd love it if I could be debt free in the next 6 months, maybe not totally realistic but I could definitely be loan and BC free with just my NW CC left to pay.
So here's to the next 6 months of brutal debt slaying!!
Well done, best to keep up with BC to get it fully cleared.0 -
Thank you for your words of encouragement Poolie!!
I'm determined to get rid of the pesky BC first!! It's nice to see the little slide-y thing they have at the top of their online banking becoming more and more green as I free up more of my available credit!! They have a really good app too actually and I sometimes just login so I can see how little I have to pay off in comparison to how much I started with! That's really lame isn't it?!
I cannot wait until my loan is paid off either!! Only 5 months to go on it, it's all budgeted for so I just leave it to do its own thing and I get to tick the months off my list and update my signature on here - such simple little things to make a debt slayer happy!
So my spends CC reset this morning, my spending last month was a little silly - I need to get back to being super strict. I'm still just about under my £300 monthly budget but it's not really the point, BF gave me some money toward food so I should have had that left over but no I seem to have spent it anyway  BAD BAD DFB30!!
Can't believe it is nearly November, it's nearly a year since I first moved in with BF and it's nearly Christmas :rudolf::xmassmile !! Ah Christmas I love it!! I've got pretty much all my gifts etc planned and now I just need to go out and buy them. Quite a few are voucher-y though so will probably wait until nearer the time to purchase those.
This month looks to be a little expensive with my car tax and MOT due for renewal and I have a cut and colour booked in next week plus a couple of trips planned with friends. Need to be cheap as chips to get through on my £300 monthly spends budget!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

OOH YEAH TO FRIDAY!! Although saying that I'm working tomorrow night and have a meeting on Sunday afternoon. Doesn't really count as a decent weekend off
Just done the rounds on my accounts, nothing untoward is occurring although I have just noticed my BC has offered me another 0% BT until August 2014 and also a 0% Money Transfer until May 2014, none of which are of particular use to me right now but it's interesting to see. It's definitely the first time I've had a money transfer offer. They must have noticed I'm paying everything down and want to try and lure me back into debt!! Perhaps when my NW 0% runs out in April, if I haven't had chance to clear it all and there's an offer available then I'll reconsider.
It'll be a quiet weekend spend wise at least, BF is going to a work colleague's wedding night do tonight, he keeps telling me he'll spend no money and just get a couple of cans to keep in his friend's car. We'll see. It's annoyed me a bit that he's even going tbh because he said he wasn't at first. But no big deal. Think I'm just extra touchy at the moment, must be the weather and the darker nights!
I can't wait until this constant thought of money this and money that drops away a little and the pressure comes off a bit. I know it's all my own fault and I'm putting the pressure on myself but it still doesn't mean it doesn't get to me every now and again! Think I need to re-read that positivity thread HOK3Y posted a while back!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

It's Monday again and it's November. Not really sure when that happened?! Time is just whooshing by. Bit scary really. Hey ho, not much we can do about it!!
Worked on Saturday night and will get a few extra pennies for it which is good, didn't really spend anything all weekend apart from I fancied a magazine and some chocolate last night in front on the tv. We had a £2 off voucher for the local shop so it only came to £2. I'm not going to cry about that!!
BF's big Christmas present has just arrived, it's sat in my office. Not really sure what I'm going to do with it or where I'm going to hide it - everything else I've stashed in drawers but this is far far too big!! All paid for from my Christmas present budget so doesn't count toward monthly spends.
Talking of monthly spends I've got a lot going out this month and need to keep things to an absolute minimum in order to scrape by under my £300 budget. Not really sure how I'm going to fit everything in that I need to but I'm sure I'll figure it out.
Payday is a week on Friday when I can make some more inroads on my figures, just want everything to be gone already!! Patience is not something I was blessed with!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Not posted on here all week - been a bit naughty with my spending so been avoiding it! Joined the gym on Monday night, figured it is something to keep me busy and also means the dark nights are no longer a viable excuse for me not keeping up with the exercising!! I only joined for 3 months at £23pm which I didn't think was too bad compared to other guna I've been a member of! Also means if I don't stick with it (which has happened previously) I haven't lost a whole years worth of membership. Been three times so far this week so just need to keep it up!
Got a replacement handset from apple yesterday as well, the camera on my phone had a fault and there was just two weeks left on my warranty - they swapped it straight away which I was over the moon with! Managed to not spend any money while I was in the big shopping centre either which is a point in my money saving favour!
Getting my hair done tomorrow and going for lunch with a couple of the girls, should be a nice chilled weekend. Busy pretty much every weekend between now and January :eek:Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Happy Sunday!!
Just chucked the extra £40 I got for helping a friend out last weekend at the BC. Get to update my signature before payday :j It's payday on Friday so I'll get to reduce all the rest of the numbers in the week or so that follows as all my DDs get taken. Plod plod plod!
Chilled day required today, went to get my hair done yesterday and had to take BF to work before so there wasn't a weekend lie in in sight! Just got to nip into work later but other than that I'm just going to go for a run and then bake some banana bread!! And maybe catch up on my current tv series. Netflix is a godsend while you're paying off debts - just press play on your chosen series and that's you occupied and not spending money for all your free time!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

I think I'm starting to waiver a little on updating this diary - I've just had to have a word with myself and make myself login to post!
Not much to tell, taking a day off the gym today as it was so ridiculously busy this time last week. Plan to go tomorrow, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday then maybe another road run on Sunday.
Payday on Friday and the car is also booked in for its MOT. Hoping there isn't much wrong with it!! December is fast approaching and I have quite a lot of potential overtime which will be just lovely when it comes to the new year and the final push to get the old BC paid off. Looking forward to a couple of days off over Christmas itself too, can't wait to spoil BF with his presents!! We'll be able to get the tree out soon as well!!! Yey!!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Just swinging by quickly before I leave the office and go to the gym! I'm going to give a couple of weight lifting sessions a week a try and see if it budges some of this awkward and stubborn chub! I've been doing a fair bit of reading up on things and apparently weights are the way to go if you want to see good results. Only time will tell!
Count down is on until payday on Friday and then I can start making some more dents in the debt numbers. After my loan DD goes out next week there will only be 4 more payments to go!!! Just FOUR!! :j :j Cannot wait. I can't even remember why I took the damn thing out, think it was the old "consolidating" trap but at least now I've had my LBM and I'm actively trying to get rid of everything. Even if I am just plodding through for now. I can feel myself slacking off a bit and wanting to buy this and that but I just need to quit it. If I concentrate on going to the gym loads and get back to being a bit stricter with the pennies I should be ok!! That's the plan anyway!!
Right home time, got to go don the lycra and lift something heavy!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Just swinging in to say WOOOOO PAYDAY!! :j :j
Some day some time soon all this money will be mine to do what I want with (within reason obviously!)
So my £25 DD has gone to the NW 0% CC, every little helps so I have updated my signature accordingly! Loan payment and fixed BC DD will go out over the next couple of weeks and I'll have to see what I can scrape together to pay any extra off the BC.
Car is in for a service and its MOT, we've not heard anything as of yet so fingers crossed there was nothing major wrong with it and it was just a case of changing the oil etc etc (or whatever else it is that they do with cars!!)
December is faaaaaast approaching and my diary is filled with potential OT, I'll have to be careful I don't overdo it but for a couple of weeks I may as well earn as much as I possibly can. Until then I'm going to keep hitting the gym, took a day off yesterday as I was a bit stiff from Wednesday but no pain no gain!! Planning on going tonight and then again tomorrow morning before I meet my friend. Probably go for a swim tonight as it's a bit easier on the joints and then do a weight session bright and early tomorrow. I will get rid of this CHUB!! I've seen a nice dress I may treat myself to if and when I trim down a bit.
Everything is ticking along nicely. No reasons to complain!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Eugh I'm getting ill again
Had a that tell tale sore throat yesterday and then today I've just got snottier and snottier... ha what a lovely image that is for anyone reading
So the car passed its MOT only needing a wire changing to stop the air bag light from being permanently on (incidentally it passed with the same fault last year but there's new legislation apparently)so the repair with the MOT and service came to £168 which I can absolutely live with. BF paid half so only £84 coming out of the monthly budget. Not bad not bad.
I do seem to have spent quite a lot this month thoughI joined the gym and bought a crate of wine for the cold winter nights, it was on offer though so paid less than £5 per bottle. Still very very naughty of me, some of the OT I will be making in December will have to bridge the gap between what I have actually spent and my (not so) strict £300 monthly spends budget. I can definitely feel myself slipping off the bandwagon a little with regard to watching my spending, must get back on it quick before any real damage is done!!
With all that in mind I've been looking at booking something for the two weeks we both have booked off at the end of January, as we haven't been on a proper holiday for this entire year I though it would be nice if we did something. Looking to go to London and I've priced up theatre tickets, train, hotel plus the Harry Potter experience and a ride on the London Eye to £180 each. I don't think that's too bad but then I do fear it is my money-spending side who is thinking that! BF is being a little more reserved and saying he's not sure. I just don't want to be sat doing nothing for 2 weeks as that is a recipe for a money saving disaster! At least if we have something to look forward to we can make do with being sat not doing a lot for the rest of the time. Last year BF made me walk up a mountain in the lakes in the freezing cold snow. It was horrible I nearly got blown off my feet at the top!! Aaaaand now I'm thinking about it I remember that the car window got smashed cos the wind was so strong! Do not want to be repeating that! He said we can plan something tonight so will see what he comes up with.
I can see myself letting myself be talked out of going to the gym tonight as I am getting ill, can't go tomorrow as I'm due back from work late. Aaaaargh, hate losing motivation!!
A couple of DDs should be going out over the next couple of days so I can update my sig. Come on debt, BE GONE!!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000
