  • Just quickly bobbed onto my online banking just before I go home and my loan DD has been collected, hadn't gone out first thing, but now at least I can do some editing to my signature!! Only FOUR payments left on the damn thing now!! :j :j :j That will be £200 per month instantly freed up to be thrown at any remaining debts I have come April!! And then when everything is gone I'll just throw it all in a savings account for my house and puppy. After I've gone on holiday first though....

  • Yey it's Friday!! Ready for a weekend off this week. Hard work being ill!! Just gearing up for the storm that is the festive season about to hit us hard!! It's nice to be kept busy I guess. And at least this year I'll be able to put some of the extra through as OT. That's never happened in previous years so :T to that!

We've got a B&B stay booked tomorrow night as it is BF's Dad's birthday and they are treating us all to tea and a night in their favourite little pub. Terribly nice of them!! Should manage to have it as a spend free weekend as we've been told in no uncertain terms it will just cost us petrol. It's BF's family so I will just go along with whatever he is happy with.

Not been to the gym aaaalll week  but then I have felt all kinds of awful so may as well get better and then hit it hard again. Seeing my little sister tonight to finalise family Christmas presents, she'll give me a lump sum toward the costs as I usually do the running around, buying and wrapping etc. Think we have everyone pretty much sorted which is good cos I will have hardly any time come December and my sis is going to Oz the lucky sod!! Need to figure out when I'm going to do all BF's presents as they are hiding in various nooks and crannies of my office!!

Not much else to report on the money saving front to be honest. I have definitely felt myself take my foot off the gas this month with regard to spending so hopefully being super busy in December will mean I don't have time to spend anything!!

Hi DFB30! It's hard to keep momentum going with everything pushing you to spend, spend, spend! Christmas is rough going!!!

You have cleared so much debt since January - you must be very proud of what you have achieved and now you only have 4 payments left before you can say a very permanently goodbye to one loan. Do something to celebrate when you make that final payment!

Wishing you all the very best to push through Christmas and come out of the other side financially stronger! x

  • Hi HOK3Y!

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. Just need to push through these last few months and then it'll all be gone! Like you said though it is a little difficult around this time of year :o

Had a lovely weekend, although I met my friend out for a couple of drinks on Friday night and ended up having about six too many - I was not feeling my best on Saturday morning!! Just about recovered in time to go to the B&B we were staying at on the Saturday night. Got treated to the stay and dinner by BF's parents so I certainly can't be complaining!!

This week is just a quiet week trying to get things tied up at work before the December onslaught hits! I have plans to do some Christmas shopping on Saturday with a couple of the girls but that is just for last minute bits and pieces and will come out of my Christmas budget. Thank heavens I've been saving all year for it!!

My BC DD hasn't gone out yet so I can't knock any more off my signature. Time is flying by though so not too long to wait before there's some more movement in the old debt figures!!

  • Ooooh you can tell Christmas is coming!!

Had a busy couple of days and it's only going to get busier!!

Managed to make it back to the gym this week on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings and I will probably go tonight as well as I'm out with the girls tomorrow and then working OT on Sunday. Got pretty much everyone's Christmas presents sorted, just need to pick stocking fillers up for BF tomorrow and then a couple of vouchers for my Grandparents. Then the wrapping can commence! I love wrapping presents :) Hoping to put our tree up at home on Sunday although BF is trying to say it's too early. Need to get it up sooner rather than later otherwise we won't get to enjoy it - that's my reasoning anyway!!

Moneywise I'm fairly quiet, I need to watch my spending this month and then really tighten the reins again come January. Just a few months being a tight ar*e in the New Year should see my debt disappear completely!!! :j My BC DD doesn't going out until Monday so I can't update my signature yet!!

  • Signature update time!! My fixed DD has gone out to the BC and come December pay day it will be taking my outstanding balance to under £1k!!! The OT I'm working now will be paid in January so just got to be patient for some overpayments although any extra pennies I come across in the next month will all be sent over to the BC for sure.

Had a nice day with the girls on Saturday although it was mega busy and I only managed to pick up a couple of bits. No biggie as I have all the main presents sorted. Worked yesterday and didn't get chance to put our tree up as I was knackered when I got home. Maybe I'll do it one evening this week. Right I need to get my behind into work. Love Christmas! (Remind me of that when I get to the end of this week with no day off!)

  • Ok so the count down to payday waiting game begins! Just 7 days to go and not much will change debt level wise until then.

I have pretty much finished my Christmas present buying, just need to find time to wrap everything. Work has gone crazy busy and I'm feeling it a bit but will soldier on and just keep the OT money in my mind!! We have a huge event a week on Monday and the bad thoughts of everything going t*ts up are just coming over me in waves  We always manage to somehow pull things off though so I don't see how this will be any different!!

Moneywise I'm not really getting much to spend as I've been working and then falling into bed. Got quite a few social occasions coming up but I should be able to keep a lid on things. Come January the belt is going super tight again and I'm determined to shake all the debt, every last but as soon as I physically can.

The gym has fallen by the wayside for the moment too but I am on my feet almost constantly throughout the day so I should be able to ride it out until I can get back!

    Must dash!

  • Dear me I'm tired :o

I've worked every day since last Sunday and am working every day until... erm... next Saturday? It's taking its toll as I'm absolutely shattered today. Got plenty to do though so think a coffee is in order and then I need to get my brain into gear for a couple of hours at least!!

Payday is on Friday, early this month as normal payday date falls on a Sunday. It'll just be the usual payments this month and then hopefully some lovely overpayments can be made in January when I get paid for this OT. Sometimes it barely looks worth it though when you take tax, NI and extra student loan out but still it's a few extra pennies I wouldn't have had before.

I cannot wait to get these debt numbers completely depleted!! Do you get a letter to confirm when a loan has had its last payment?? I sure hope so, I may even frame it if you do haha!!

Right must get on, but first, where is that coffee....

  • Oh my it's been a busy few days!!

Thankfully not been able to spend too much money because I've been practically living at work!!

It's all nearly over now though and I've got an actual weekend off to look forward to!! Hosting our annual girlie Christmas Dinner tomorrow although some boys are now in attendance (can't really chuck BF out as he lives in the flat!). Everyone chucks in a tenner each and I go all out with everything so really can't wait!! Thankfully it doesn't end up costing me that much.

Nearly ready for Christmas, just got a couple of bits to get and then lots of wrapping to do. Will get everything done on Sunday I think whilst BF is at work. I can swap between washing up and wrapping presents throughout the day!!

Moneywise everything is looking fairly normal, the debt numbers are going down as my regular monthly payments go out...

  • Woah!! Christmas Eve! Where on earth did that come from?!

Doing a half day today, didn't sleep too well last night so I'll be creeping home to my sofa for a pre-Christmas-Eve-drinks-nap!!

Not got much to do today in terms of actual work so just trying to get things tidied up and ready for the new year. Worked out my OT, pretty pitiful when you take the tax, NI and Student Loan off it all. Makes me sick to think what hours I've worked and the money I will actually come out with

Looking forward to tomorrow and having the next few days off to do not a whole lot!! Got two weeks off at the end of January too which will just be bliss, can't wait to not have to get out of bed in a morning!! We're going to my grandparents for lunch tomorrow and then BF's mum and dads for tea, coming home afterwards though as I like my own bed too much!!! :D Wondering what BF has got me for Xmas, my guess is an ipad mini but I could be totally wrong! He has no clue what I've got him, I wrapped them all yesterday and I'm pretty sure he'll be fairly happy!!

Moneywise, once again, there's not much to report. Normal payments are being made for this month and I don't even think I'll be able to make many overpayments next month as I have gone over my spending budget a little (lot :o) with it being the festive season. Not good. Need to tighten up again come 2014 but I fear I have been saying the exact same thing for the last couple of months. Still, I started this year off doing pretty well so just doing the same in the new year should get the ball rolling again and I'm in a much better position debtwise when compared to January 2013!!
