TWO MONTHS TO GO ON MY LOAN!!!
:j :T
Just two payments left until one big debt is done and dusted forever! What an idiot I was taking it out in the first place but we all live and learn!! Need to keep things tight though and regain focus as I have definitely lost it over the last couple of months. My spending is once again over what it should be this month which makes me pretty annoyed at myself for being so stupid. May aim for a no spend February. It's a short month and I can plan in my grocery shopping and then that'll be that!! Hmmmm am I up to the challenge?! I shall mull it over and come up with a game plan!
My fixed DD goes out to my BC nearer the end of the month so I'll be along to update my signature again, I've managed to scrape together £85 in overpayments this month so that's better than nothing. Just want all this debt gone!! I think I may ring the mortgage advisor today as well and see what we potentially need to get into place if we are going to seriously look at this new build flat. I'm on holiday for the next two weeks so plenty of time to get the ball rolling however slowly it might be!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Still feeling sorry for myself somewhat today. Boring myself though, not done much all day, just watched crap tv and read some of my book. Should without doubt have gone to the gym  Need to make sure I'm drinking my litre of water a day too as I tend to forget when I'm at home and not at work.
Think a lot of my moody grumps of late are down to this money debt paying back business - at least there's light at the end of tunnel for me now. Just need to keep on track! I've spoken to BF and he's going to give me £100 toward groceries for the next couple of months which will be a big help. If I get back to my meal planning ways and reinstate NSD targets I'm sure I'll be able to bring my DFD about even quicker. So for February I'm thinking I aim for a big fat 25 NSDs. I mean I may as well shoot high and I'm off work until 3rd Feb so I have plenty of time to sort my meal plan and go shopping before the 1st. I'll have 3 days throughout the month where I can pick a couple of extra bits up. I don't want to spend any pennies on anything other than essential food purchases though. In for a difficult but rewarding month!!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Still enjoying just chilling out and reading my book - I always wonder why I don't read on a normal day to day basis. There's nowt like getting lost in a good book!! Got to pop into work today though and send a few urgent emails

Bought a couple of bits yesterday, spent about a tenner so not too drastic although I'm already over January's budget so I shouldn't really have spent anything! Going to Manchester on Sunday for a night with BF, we have extra money in the bills account with it being council tax free months so we're going to treat ourselves with that. Won't be going crazy though. Considering whether to swap my Halifax URCA to the Nationwide Flexplus, I already use a normal NW account as our bills account so thinking they will happily just bump me up? Wonder if they would do the same for my CC too so I'd have the Select which I believe is a decent card to use abroad? I'm going to get rid of one CC when I clear things down, just don't know which as the BC gives me good BT offers etc (although do I need these if I'm not planning to get back into debt??), my monthly spends goes on to a HF which gives me cashback and then there's NW which tbh looks like it'll be the one to go unless they upgrade it. The 0% on it finishes in April so may BT it to the BC as it's offering 6.9% LOB at the moment. Perhaps they will offer me a 0% as my balance is heading towards zero?! I probably shouldn't be thinking of these things at all and just concentrate on getting rid of everything. Pays to plan ahead though!
Just a quick hello :hello: and thank you to Poolie - I see you liking my posts and it's just that nice little lift I need to carry on!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

What rate does your NW CC jump too in April once the 0% finishes? Given it ends in April, you will need to think about telling BC to do the transfer after March's payment has gone out and they you should not get hit with any interest.
Well done on the loan, where do you plan on using the money once this has cleared? Also, why not, if you have any spare cash from the council tax free months, overpay the BC or something else?
Enjoy your weekend in Manchester.0 -
I think it's 19.9% APR and according to my snowball app will cost me about £60 by the time I pay it off - I plan to use what I would usually pay off the loan to pay off the rest of the NW balance. I should also be finishing the BC soon so my fixed payment of £220 can go toward the NW as well. This is all plugged into my snowball app - even with a BT fee I will save precious pennies!
I wouldn't like to use the extra cash in the bills account as it's ours rather than just mine if that makes sense? We've both agreed to pay a set amount into the account so I wouldn't feel quite right taking some of it out to pay debts. At least I don't have to worry about budgeting for Manchester and also BF is helping out with groceries for the next couple of months (he usually pays if we go out) which will help in the final home straight run to being debt free!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Well we had a lovely time in Manchester, dinner was lush and I even won a little bit at the casino!! Had a £10 voucher come through from VO surveys so I treated myself to a new face wash I had a tester for and really like. Only cost me £2 so happy enough with that.
Been trying not to spend too much over the last few days (excluding Manc spends which were already accounted for from our bills account anyway) Using up what food I've got left in before I do a big plan ready for February - I'm aiming for 25 NSDs so need to make sure I'm on the ball. Updated my Halifax URCA account to the regular reward account, means I'll get £5 per month instead of it costing me a tenner. Upgraded my Nationwide bills account to the FlexPlus. It's the same £10pm but includes insurance for BF's phone as well plus a couple of other bits and pieces. I know some don't think it's worth it but I reckon it's quite good value for money. I also cancelled my OD on the HF account as I haven't used it since they changed the charges and it'll mean a £1k chunk of available credit disappears from my credit report.
Did something really really bad today though. Ordered BF an ipad for his birthday cos he really wants one. I've already told him I wasn't getting one as it's too much but I just had an overwhelming want to treat him
I've okayed it in my head because it's interest free and I'm getting a pay rise when I go back to work which gives me an extra £120 a month. Means I can pay it off in instalments but it won't cost me any more than buying it out right and it also won't impede on my fixed DDs paying off the debts. I know it's naughty but I've done it now. I do feel guilty but I also know he's going to absolutely love it.
Need to make more effort to drink enough water to reach my daily target - I've definitely missed out on the full litre each day since Friday! I'm currently floating around at just over 10stone so it looks like I may have actually lost a few pounds since starting to increase my fluid intake. Need to step up my efforts to gym it as I have been literally useless all bloody month!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Hi W&M :hello:
Nice to hear from a fellow plodder! I can't wait for my DFD to get here, I hope I'm not disappointed with the immediate weight-lifting-off-shoulder-feeling I'm imagining! Very exciting news about the arrival of a little'un - I hope all goes well and I'm sure you'll keep smashing through those debt totals!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Not much to report on any front - just done a two week meal plan that I hope to get all supplies for around the £70 mark. Will go and collect everything I need later today.
Our fortnight holiday is drawing to a close - back to the grindstone on Monday but a payrise awaits me. Not as much as I'd first hoped but more money is still more money. BF could potentially be getting a promotion too so all could be looking quite good on the house buying front! Wish I could make the debt disappear even faster! I guess the home straight was always going to be the toughest bit! Hoping February will be a nice and quiet month. Best had be when I want to hit 25 NSDs!!! At least it's a short one so my last two loan repayments will swing by quickly! Just two to go!! Yey!!
C'MON YOU CHEEKY LITTLE DFD!!

Signature update day!! My fixed DD of £220 has flown over to the BC. Ooh the end is nigh for the BC balance!! It's been a big one to pay off and thankfully I've paid no interest over the last few months. I am hoping I can scrape enough pennies together to overpay so it'll all be gone come March payday. Same month as my loan. That's £160 to find. If all goes well with my meal planning that should be possible as BF is helping me with grocery costs for a couple of months. I then hope to get another 0% offer to BT the NW balance just before it starts to attract interest on April. If not my BC has a 6.9% LOB offer which will be cheaper than the 19.9% APR on my NW CC. That remaining balance should get annihilated pretty quick as it'll have my £220 fixed DD, £200 loan repayment plus the usual £25 minimum payment and then anything extra I can find!! I just wishes paydays come by quicker!! Although I don't really because time passes far too quickly as it is!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000
