  • Only a week to go until payday!! Although now that I think about it there's no overtime again in this wage so there will be no easy over-payments. Need to keep my spends down until the end of the month so I can have some extra to throw at the BC come November. Think I may do some Christmas shopping over the next couple of weeks with my saved money - at least then I won't feel like I'm being a complete tight a55.

Going to Sheffield next weekend to see my friend and her kiddies, just need to pay for petrol over there which isn't too bad, we'll probably go out for lunch but not much else. Don't think I've got anything else planned so I need to get my head into gear and get out pounding the streets!! Feeling generally pants in myself again but it's all in my head so there's only me who can snap myself out of it!!!

  • So not much to report once again, did an insanity on Tuesday night and it made me feel sick! Went for a run last night and having a day off today. Run tomorrow and then hopefully some kind of exercise on Saturday so I'll hit my 4 sessions in a week.

Not spent any money for a couple of days and don't have anything big planned in the immediate future. May pick up a couple of bits over the weekend for the house but other than that I'm spend free! Bought some Christmas presents tonight, got BF some little bits and pieces for his stocking! It's come straight out of my present budget so it's guilt free spending!!

Think I may have a big clear out while BF is working this weekend, too much of my wardrobe isn't being worn and too much has managed to survive past culls!! Must be ruthless!

  • Ok so it's PAYDAY tomorrow :j Although it's going to be a normal month of paying fixed payments as I've not had any overtime :( Still that pesky little percentage with be increasing and my total debt will be falling!!

The car is due its MOT and tax in November so that will make for a very quiet month. Which is probably best as December is always pretty busy. Saying that I think most of my weekends in November are booked up for one reason or another :o

Christmas should come in on budget, just need to decide what to get my sister as she's disappearing off to the land of Oz for most of the festive season. I get the rest of the family presents together with her so the money side of that bit isn't too drastic. Got most of them planned just need to actually go purchase them!! Some of BF's presents should be delivered this week so I'll have to sneakily hide them!! Need to order his main present too but it's quite big, not sure where I'll be able to put it....

Basically I've not got much to say on the debt busting other than I'm plodding on and keeping on the straight and narrow!!

  • Boom it's PAYDAY!! :j :j :j Always nice to see the bank balance shoot up, even if it does get cleared out pretty sharpish and none of the pennies are free for me to spend as I wish!

The minimum payment for my NW CC has gone out so I've updated my signature, all other fixed payments are set to go out as normal so I shall swing my and update those as the month goes by. There's no immediately obvious overpayments I can make but I'll keep my ear to the ground and see what comes up plus I need to get through until the end of October spending no more money from my monthly spends budget so then I can make extra payments come November payday!!

Going to stay with my friend in Sheffield over the weekend, won't be an expensive one as we'll just be going to the park and such like with her kiddies. Other than that I can't think of anything particularly exciting that we have planned between now and when my spends CC will reset. Operation spend no money commences!!

  • Just logged on to TCB to see if my car insurance CB had finally tracked from months ago, not only had it tracked it was also payable so that's a nice £20 to add to this month's seemingly non-existent overpayments!! Better than nothing. Let's see what else I can find....

  • Well it's Monday yet again!!

Had a lovely weekend over at my friend's, she is an absolute hero when it comes to looking after her 3 kids on her own and dealing with her waste of space soon-to-be ex-husband. Had to put some petrol in the car and truth be told I got a little mad at BF because I pay the car insurance outright as it is in my name (my car) but he uses the car far more than me and our agreement is he pays for petrol. Obviously we were going to see my friend and it was a journey I was making us take but he's saving so much on the insurance front I got mad that he actually let me pay. Probably totally unreasonable of me but hey I'll get over it! Means my extra OPs come November won't be that high :(

Just renewed our contents insurance and got a really good deal - only £64 for the year plus free breakdown cover. Can't complain at that at all!! Hopefully may £20 cash back will also come through and that can cover the £20 I spent in petrol this weekend! Need to renew our broadband but struggling to find a deal I'm happy with, line rental is so much!! Not everyone seems to let you pay upfront for the year which is a little annoying. Will keep searching, there has to be some good deal to be had!!

Plodding along debt slaying wise, my loan now stands at just 5 repayments left!!!!!!

  • So some CB cleared into my account and I've just rooted round my accounts and managed to make up the £37 minimum payment on my BC which I have just sent over. Had to be at least the minimum as my fixed DD has not gone out yet. At least that is a £37 overpayment that I wasn't expecting to be able to make this month!! Better than nothing for sure.

I now have £40 pending in my TCB account as I renewed our broadband contract as well as our contents insurance yesterday. All the extra will go on OPs to make this pesky debt disappear!!

BF has been eyeing up a new car, he wants a pretty flash one (nothing too fancy but compared to the one we have now I mean!) It's quite a grown up looking thing and comes with a grown up looking price tag!! He's saving hard at the moment though and I don't blame him wanting something nice whilst I'm still paying off my debts. We can then start saving for a house together come my DFD next year. AAAAAH I just want the debts gone!! COME ON DFD!!

  • Thank you W&M!! I think that is the moral of my story - "just keep plodding" :D

Didn't even go out of the flat yesterday, just stayed in watching Netflix, did some washing and threw a sausage casserole in the slow cooker! Think I'll head into town today just for a wander so I'm not a complete hermit all weekend! I've fallen out of my exercise sessions which is baaaaad so I should really try fit one in today as well, it's not like I've got anything else planned!

Got a bit of OT planned this Saturday evening which will be a bit extra to throw over to the BC, not sure when my CB will be made payable but that's a nice little £40 OP too. If I can make an extra £30 OP each month my DFD reduces to July 2014. Should be pretty doable if I'm careful. Just a shame the next couple of months are some of the most expensive!!

Car tax and MOT needs paying, I've got my hair appointment in a couple of weeks and then it's obviously Christmas but I should cover the majority of that from my present budget. Just annoying that BF's and mums birthdays are quite soon after at the beginning of February :o

Need to keep the budget tight and ride out these next few weeks. I love December but it needs to be a cheap one!!!

  • So my fixed DD has gone out to the BC - I've now paid over £3K off it this year which was my target for 2013 way back when in January :j I've also just dipped under the £4K mark with remaining debt which I'm pretty happy with! I'd love it if I could be debt free in the next 6 months, maybe not totally realistic but I could definitely be loan and BC free with just my NW CC left to pay.

So here's to the next 6 months of brutal debt slaying!!
