  • So I went running today instead of doing my insanity workout, just sort of fell out with it yesterday and really didn't feel like repeating things today! Was nice to get back out in some different scenery. Didn't go overly far, just 3 miles but its better than nothing!!

Still can't decide what to do with my birthday pennies, big part of me just wants to dump it on the BC but another part thinks I should save it or spend it. I feel so guilty thinking about spending it though!! Aaargh!!

Can't do much spending for the rest of September now (how depressing is that on the 5th of the month?!) getting my hair done next week and I've spent extra on my Manchester pre-birthday trip so that means I have to be extra good! Oh to be debt free and have a touch more wiggle room month by month!!

  • Not done much for the last couple of days. BF took me for a late-birthday treat yesterday, it was a lovely quirky little afternoon tea complete with bubbles at a garden centre in the back end of nowhere! He's had to go into work today so I've been watching Netflix and contemplating doing an insanity workout. Lost my motivation for it this week but need to step things back up or else I'll lose all the good work I've done already! I think if I manage 4-5 sessions a week I'll be ok. Just annoying I've not lost any weight yet. Going to mix up the insanity sessions with running and maybe some weights as I have next to no upper body strength!

Pay day has come around quick this month, wages will be landing in my account come Friday but there's no overtime this month :( Every penny is pretty much accounted for so no big spends planned. May just use my birthday money as overpayments this month. But not sold on that idea just yet. Definitely not sold on the buying myself a treat idea either!!

  • Just updated my signature for the 5 NSDs so far this month. Didn't set myself a goal on the 1st but I may as well just head for 25 again, I'm pretty much spent up on my £300 budget for the month (or at least everything is allocated!) so need to keep my head down and not spend. I think there may be some need to get creative in the kitchen as the end of the month draws closer!

Went for a bike ride last night, need to hit the ground running with my exercising this week as I definitely let the side down last week and only did 3 and a half sessions :O Not going to lose this stubborn chub if I sit around on my backside all day!!

Happy belated birthday! And yay to payday-2 weeks Friday for me :(

How about putting half your birthday money towards a treat and half to debt, with a promise to pay yourself back when you have your first pay after your DFD? I think we all need little treats now and then!

  • Hi KJP!

I'd agree with you that we all need treats every now and again!! I'm just going to keep the money intact for now and figure out what to do with it at a later date. I think I will probably go for a half and half type thing!!

It's payday today although I don't seem overly excited by it this month, probably because there's no overtime in there so all I can do is meet my normal planned repayments which is just boring in comparison to previous months!! My fixed DD of £180 will go out nearer the end of the month and I need to come up with ways of making some more pennies. Thinking there's a few dresses and what not hanging in my wardrobe I could probably sell as I doubt I will ever wear them again. It's a funny mind game to actually convince yourself to get rid though!! I've sold so many other things I don't see why there should be a problem!

Went for a run on Tuesday and did an insanity workout last night, I have no excuse not to exercise regularly now as I've been doing it 6 days a week for the last 6 weeks - it should be second nature by now! If I keep it up maybe I'll see some chub disappear.

Not generally feeling too great at the moment, think its just me getting a bit weary about the debt slaying and feeling a bit meh about my weight. BF can tell I'm off but he's just backed off and leaving me to it. Probably safer that way for him bless him! I actually feel sorry for men sometimes having to deal with us women and our mood swings!! Need to turn over a fresh leaf of motivation!!

  • Had a quiet weekend, got my hair done yesterday, had a bit of a change so it was a little more than the planned £60 at £68. Went out on Friday night as well as an old friend was leaving town. Felt a bit guilty but I haven't been out much at all and a couple of friends have been making a few comments. I shouldn't let that get to me though, I've worked really hard paying this debt down and I'm well on the way to getting it completely cleared so I just need to keep at it! With the added birthday outing earlier this month I think I'm pretty much at my £300 spending limit so I'm going to have to be very careful about how I get through to when my spends CC resets!! Eugh. Debt slaying is just depressing sometimes!!

Did an insanity workout today, it was hard work but need to keep going! Think I'm coming down with something as I have a tell tale sore throat. I do usually get ill in September for some reason so it would come as no surprise!

Plod plod plod. Boring boring. Come on DFD!!

  • Eugh feel like crap today. I'm sat at my desk, my nose is streaming and I'm struggling to concentrate on work. Blaaaaah. Feeling very bored with things at the moment, work doesn't excite me in anyway whatsoever, if anything I'd say I dread coming in. The DF thing is wearing on me, I feel like we've hardly done anything this year and I'm just generally in a mood of some sort about money most of the time. I know this isn't strictly true as not so long ago I was really motivated and happy to see the numbers dropping. Not sure what's happened. I think BF is picking up on me being down in the dumps too which isn't fair on him having to put up with me being a mare! Grrrr why do we do this?! Why can't we just feel all hunky dory and great aaaalll the time?! Wish I was slim and rich, pretty sure I'd be much happier then!! HA! Sorry for the moan :o

  • I've just paid £120 of my birthday money over to the BC... in a last ditch attempt to lift my mood. At least I get to update my signature now and by the end of the month when my £180 fixed payment goes out I'll be hitting 90% of my £3K target paid!!!!

  • Meh still ill. Stayed at home today as I was useless at the office yesterday. Done a bit of work this morning and now need to get my head down this afternoon and get some things ticked off my list!!

My BC balance is coming down nicely, especially as I caved yesterday and threw the majority of my birthday pennies at it! I'll be so happy when it's gone and I'll buy myself a present when I can afford it. Will be hitting the 3K mark fairly soon so then I'll need to reaccess and figure out exactly how much money I have left to pay off!! It's also another quarter way through the year so I need to do a 3 month recap of how much I've paid off the debts!! On a bright note my loan payment is due out in the next couple of days and that will mean I only have 6 months left to pay. Just SIX months!! That's not many in the grand scheme of things!! :j
