Your doing really well debtfreeby30.
Once you have paid off £3000 from your BC, what is your next plan?0 -
Hi Poolie :hello:
Thanks for popping by. Once I've paid the £3K I will have about £1000 left on the BC but it will be interest free until April 2014, I also have my NW CC which is interest free until April as well. Ideally I would love to pay down everything by April (which happens to be when my loan finishes too), no clue how I am going to do that at the moment! My current DFD is September 2014 so I need to shave off 5 months from that. That's some majorly big over payments. I suspect a DFD of July may be more reachable but we will see!!!
Once everything is paid off I'm going to take BF on a nice holiday and then I'm going to carry on my MSE ways and save save save for the big beautiful house with a garden (so I can get a puppy!) I want!
My mobile phone DD has gone out ok today which is nice as it was one of the ones that failed last month!! Should be an NSD day and weekend. Going out for a few drinks on Saturday but that's BF's remit!!
Happy Friday everyone!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

Hey debtfreeby30!!!
OH had his payday yesterday as well - isn't it so exhilarating to see all that money in the account and then - a couple of hours later, it's all been allocated and really none of it should be touched!!!!
By within a year it should all be yours so that is a great thing to look forward to! I'm also hoping to become debt free next year so we can also get a puppy!
R u fussed about a breed or will it be anything? I've got my heart set on a german shepherd/pyreneen mountain dog mix- giant dogs so I need that country cottage with garden for it to run around in!!! haha! :rotfl: The OH is horrified!!!
Keep up with the debt-busting, you do so well and I love how sensible you are with the whole process. :A

Sounds like a good plan, even though the BC is interest free after the £3k is cleared, you might want to consider going for the last £1k and clearing it. Sense of joy knowing it is fully gone then only 1 card to clear. I am sure you will be much earlier than September or even July if you can keep it under control.0

Oh how nice it is to have people pop in!! Hello again C-R!!
I do enjoy payday coming around but as you say pretty much every penny is already allocated out so it's not like I can go out and buy any treats or anything!! That time will hopefully come though and I've bought myself plenty of treats in the past hence the debt!!
Big dogs are lovely, I grew up around a family friends German Shepherd and she was such a loyal thing, absolutely adored and looked after me when I was growing up - wouldn't even let my Dad come near me at times!! I would really like a spaniel - either a Cocker or Springer (or both
) My BF is happy with a Springer as his grandparents used to have a Cocker when he was little and he remembers it being vicious. When I say it was probably only vicious because a nasty little 5 year old boy tried to pull its tails then it's not really a fair example!! Ha! He just shrugs but we're both happy with the Springer option. Cannot wait!!!
I am trying to keep my sensible head on, I think it's gettin a bit easier now. I still have pangs of wanting to buy things but mind over matter means you can do without! In the past I would have just bought whatever it is I wanted without a second thought so big improvements there!!
I hope your debt busting journey is going well? I can't believe how fast the year is going, Christmas is going to be here soon  Here's to being debt free and puppy owners as soon as possible!! :beer:Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

I'm in complete agreement with you there Poolie, I'm just going to stick at overpaying as much as I can until it's all gone!! My loan services itself and after this months payment goes out I will only have 7 more to go. At least if I do have a bit more to pay off when that ends in April I will have an extra £200 a month to throw at the CCs.

Just flung the £120 over to my BC so now I'm hitting over 72% paid of my £3K target. Still got my fixed monthly DD of £180 (plus £40pm to cover car insurance but I'm not including that in my totals!) to go out in a few days so that will put me nearly on 79%!!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

So it's Sunday. I missed my insanity workout yesterday so I need to do it today. Worked yesterday as a favour for a friend and came home with an extra £45 to overpay the BC!! The pink shirt I bought is going to go through my normal monthly spends as I'm not doing too badly with them. Went out for a few drinks last night but BF paid so that was all good. I just don't really enjoy going out and getting drunk anymore tbh!!
My Ma and Pa may be buying a house and they have said me and BF can move in and only pay half towards the mortgage so we'd be able to save for our own house a hell of a lot quicker. Not really sure how I feel about it, makes perfect sense and if we end up being able to save over half our current rent it's definitely worth it. BF thinks its a good idea but I'm not sure what the house they are thinking of looks like. Think we'd have to get rid of some furniture too. Hmmmm. I guess we'll have to go look at the house and see and calculate all the costs etc. It does have a garden though so I could potentially get my puppy early!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

I was very naughty yesterday and didn't do my Insanity workout
Baaaaaad bad DF!! It's "recovery week" this week so the workouts are a little less high impact ready for the second step-up in weeks 6-9. This is where the weight is supposed to start coming off... we will see we will see!
Had a weekend free of spending, on 15 NSDs so far in August so not too bad. I have no overtime pay due in September at the moment so I will need to be creative when it comes to overpayments. It's my birthday 2 weeks today so if I get any pennies for that they can go towards the BC. I'll also keep my ear to the ground and see if there is any extra work going between now and the end of August. At least this month's overpayments have been quite healthy.
My loan payment went out this month without a hitch thank goodness! Updated my sig accordingly - only 7 months to go on it now. Time does fly doesn't it?! My BC fixed payment is still due to go out and I need to put the extra cash from the weekend in my account and transfer it over to the BC. Think I will be on 80% paid of my £3K target by the end of this month!!Nest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000

OOh and just looking at my % grid - as I hit 80% paid off in August even if I only pay my fixed DD from now until the end of the year I will make my £3K target which I'm pretty chuffed about!! Not going to let up though and keep paying it down as much as I possibly can!! The entire BC balance will be gone very very soon!! :jNest Egg Savings Target: £7300/£10,000
