maybe I've misread the question OP - do you mean you'd have joint finances and your name would be on the household bills, and you'd be the one physically arranging payment?

If she's your wife don't think just think of the money as joint anyway?

Or do you mean physically pay them?

We have a joint account and I handle the admin.

    Why would you want to?

I would rather she spends her money on things she enjoys - clothes rather than me buying myself treats (im not that fussed)!

Maybe if you are more traditionally minded and are taking into account that your wife might be doing most or all of the housework, then maybe the man would want to be the provider.

If I were married to you, I'd be spending the trinkets money on serious investing :)

I don't understand why though? isn't this what you (women) want?

and I didn't say "pretty little things".

but yeah I was just thinking that its more traditional for the man to pay the bills but it seems I was completely wrong

    My boyfriend pays the bills.

I pay: house groceries and anything we need house-wise, my car, mobile and CC's.

Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.

My husband and I are a partnership. What money we earn is family money and we pay the bills and save some and spend on ourselves if there's some left.

Our relationship dynamics would be quite different if he paid for all the essential living expenses.

Also, when I was asked to produce a utility bill as proof of identity or address, I'd be stuck.
