Im confused !.I have a motorola v3 my daugter gave me on T mobile,I put my orange sim in and had many happy times on it.
When my daughters new phone was being repaired she borrowed it back and used her sim again.
During this period of me not having the phone I forgot the I think special 4 digit code I had to enter every time I switched it on,and now so has my daughter.
Does it mean I will have to take it to someone to do this unlocking process or is there anything else I can do.Thanks if you know.
if its the phone lock then it will need to be reset by hardware (you may also lose any info you have saved)
you may be able to do it with s/w like pk2man or motokit with the data cable or a mini usb like mp3 player

Thanks rogerramjet, I phoned Vodafone this morning and they provided the unlock code for my older phone free of charge. Very straightforward but I would never have thought of that myself.0 -
This phone is on o2. Its my daughters phone and she wants a number (various reasons) anyway, when I insert a new o2 sim I get '' Phone lock code '' message, do I have to get the phone unlocked to keep using o2??
Any help would be great.0 -

Maybe the first post in this thread can be updated to let others know that if their phone is on vodafone and over a year old they can get the code for freeWelcome, rogerramjet.

Does anybody know if it's possible to unlock an ex-contract 3 mobile i.e. an LG U8130?
I've found a site called www.mrunlock.com which says it can do it for £2.95, but I'm sceptical about trying it.
Obviously I'd prefer to be able to do it for free but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.0
