I am putting O2 sim card in motorol handset and is with orange. But it says to enter subsidy Pass .....O.

I am novice here and don't understand. What is this subsidy password.

that means it needs unlocking
very few motorolas can be done free but you can usually get the code for about £10

Your O2 SIM will not work in the Moto until it has been unlocked from Orange. Orange will supply the code for £20 or a market stall will probably do it for approx £5 - £10.

sorry to bring this old topic back up, but a phone lock code is where you have set a code so that only the sim that was in the phone at the time of you setting the code can be used.

have you tried any birthdates?.

if you still cant find out the code, a local shop/market stall should be able to reset the code for you

It is asking for a "subsidy password" which means that the Moto is network locked to Orange.

....is it still the case that my Motorola V3X can only be unlocked by a market stall? Round here they all want £30 so I'm checking other options first.
