Hello all, I have a Samsung A800 that i have tried to unlock, i have used the code on the first page with the sim card out (was on Orange contract but contract has expired) but when i went to put a sim card in from a different network it is asking for a password. I have tried 00000000 and it says thats wrong. When i try and put the old orange sim card in it says searching for a network, does this mean it has not been unlocked? any help much appreciated, getting a bit too technical for me lol!

it needs direct unlock by clip or cable
you can use the cable that comes with a samsung t100 if you can find one to borrow
the s/w is available on the net

I have a Panasonic GD87 locked to Orange. I know this can't be unlocked by code and will need unlocking at a shop or market stall. However I have read on several web sites that this model cannnot be unlocked at all. Is this the case and if so will Orange unlock the phone (no doubt for a hefty fee).

all models can be unlocked although some need downgrading if doing by cable
what s/w version is it?
if its a22 or lower you can do it yourself with a cable
to find s/w version:

Just after your PIN code, but before the carrier logo appears, just put *#9999#
The last # doesn't appear , it is normal.
Just wait for a few seconds, then, the version of your firmware magically appears within a lot of information... It is the number after the A (for example A16, or A19...)

The first information that came up was:-

i think you will need to downgrade to v22 then unlock it (then upgrade again if you want)

otherwise you will need to find someone who can do it for you or direct unlock
