Hi all, Am making roast beef with all the masjings today and was just wondering about the roasties.
Went to Asda this morning but they had no goose fat so all i have in is flora cuisine or olive oil, my question to you is which produces the best roasties?:j Started my weightloss journey, its neverending!! :j

Olive oil makes lovely roasties (unless it is extra virgin, which can't really take the heat), I wouldn't put that Flora rubbish on food personally.
Next time buy lard if there's no goose fat, or dripping.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

I'd use olive oil. It will flavour them slightly but I don't think that flora stuff is even real fat? Tbh I never ever use goose fat for roasties, just parboil and toss in whatever oil is nearest. You could try the fat from the meat you are roasting? When I'm feeling especially lazy I just chuck them in the pan with the meat and they taste fabThere are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.0

agree with ragz, is that the Flora liquid stuff? _pale_ I wouldn't put it anywhere near roast potatoes, or any other food, use the olive oil
something to consider for future roasts ... beef dripping
I bought it as a last resort one year (no goose fat to be had) & much to my surprise everyone said they were the best roast potatoes ever
EDIT ... I'm such a slow typer ragz had edited in dripping while I was composing this, sorry for cross-post0 -
I use spray oil but there's no mistaking goose fat gives best crispiness!
ill merge this with roast potatoes later

Do you have any sunflower oil? That's what I usually use. If not then I'd go with the olive oil0
