Productive time Rosa. I found that the job offer gave me an urge to have a major sort out I think the clearer my mind is the clearer I want things around me to be. On a smaller scale I started with a new spreadsheet, tidying a bank account and having a wardrobe clear out :j
Do you need to move permanently for the new job?

Yes, it's much too far away to commute. And I did choose it, just having a bit of a wobble about everything to be done!
I think you're right though - it's a really good time to have a clearout. I've managed quite a lot while organising the house, so a bit of extra effort (and probably a ridiculous expense on Really Useful boxes) could get me fully decluttered and ready to make the most of the new place. Thank you for the motivation :A

Oh I don't know, mine sneak in whenever they get the chance. The bed above the driver seat is a particular favourite. And the carpet on the walls is cat heaven. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

So more shuffles...
Feel like I'm catching up with myself a bit now. The current overall balance for the month is not good but will be improved as soon as I claim expenses, and I've paid outstanding invoices (including having to sit down and work out a spreadsheet for the one where they've got dates wrong and appear to think I owe £250 more than I think I do). A mistaken refund has also disappeared back out of my bank account, with no explanation which is annoying but at least it's dealt with. I half hoped they would forget about it and I could legally keep it but didn't really expect that so glad I'm not having to fiddle any more to keep it aside.
There is no need to buy a sofa at present, and no need for the kind of storage boxes I was going to buy either so am just avoiding spending for the moment. I don't have much further news on the new job yet but did clarify I should get some relocation expenses, thank goodness, I was just about to panic at the potential costs. I've also just been brave enough to finally check the mortgage documents on porting and although it isn't great news, it's better than it could have been. I do need to check that further with a mortgage specialist but it can wait for now.
Sending the last thing for the extra contract work shortly, and oddly relieved to see the back of it tbh. It's been interesting but the associated hassle isn't worth it and it will be great to not worry about things suddenly arriving in my inbox. I did get the payment through so it's all covered tax wise.
Feeling a bit sort of in limbo as all my plans are a bit up in the air... but it's ok as there is also no major rush yet, so trying to just get as organised as possible - and save money :money::D for when it's needed.

Exciting times continue for you Rosa. It must feel strange to know there are all these changes happening, but to be in limbo for now. It'll soon be a whirlwind of change, in a good way.
Good luck with everything. Porting your mortgage sounds like a minefield. I looked at doing that years ago but thankfully didn't need it in the end.

Shuffling... well allowing for claiming my expenses, which technically may not arrive til April, I'm juuust in the black. Which is as well, since the van MOT etc falls a month sooner than I thought. Not planning any house spends til I've spoken with the estate agents, since a friend tells me they will just advise leaving it so that people can do their own thing. It only needs a coat of paint, not anything major, and I really don't want to be spending money if it can be avoided so will see what they say. Changed my mind about storage boxes yet again and will be buying more tomorrow, it's just so much easier to have things organised that way and I am going to try and get things decluttered and sorted before packing. I think you're absolutely right about being productive Bellevie, I'm finding myself doing little jobs I'd put off for ages now that there's a goal in mind!
Delighted to see the back of the extra contract work, I am only now realising what a worry it was knowing that a pile of work could land in my inbox without any notice or set timescales. I have a couple of goals to hopefully progress before I move, but they are both flexible and can totally be put off if required.
Not really much else going on... so I guess still plodding, just now can see a fork in the road!
