Afternoon all
Went to work early with the intention of getting through my work & leaving before the snow got heavy, unfortunately the powers that be decided otherwise, didn't leave til late, couldn't get car out of the carpark, walked home, fell over lots, I'm too bloody old to be rolling in the snow!
Have a good evening everyone.
Hugs Hester

Been into town, got some essential bits from Mr W, some F&V from the market, including 12 - count 'em, TWELVE bananas for £1, because they're loose (I prefer them that way, as my arthritic paws can't break a 'nana off it's bunch these days), and a good supply of L3msip for Mr LW. It's not manflu, he really is suffering, poor love.
I have little orange dancing lights in front of my eyes now - impending migraine; direct result of the snow, always does this to me, which is why I hate the stuff with a passion.:( Will get my White Flower liquid (for topical application) and a dose of Oramorph and see if those between them see it off.
Glad to hear that canine friends Molly and Ivy are doing better for themselves.:TIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
donny spoke to my brother who lives in the Charente in France and he was up to his knees in the white stuff at 7.30 this morning
jools <hugs> go and have a hot cuppa and breathe
No snow here yet in the Medway, but very cold and windy.
Best news for me this afternoon was while I was at History my DD Tessa texted me to say she has got a job and they want her to start next Monday, better money and commission, so I am so pleased for her as she was getting quite worried about things. She phoned her old firm whom she had got made redundant from and they said they will still pay her two weeks plus this months salary so she is even more chuffed and her new boss can't wait for her to start next week ,so I am back on DGS sitting duties again next week.DGS Jack is chuffed as well as he said no one can make his cheese toasties like granny can for his after school snack:)
Builder is getting on great guns and should be finished by Monday afternoon with my bathroom It looks so nice and I shall have my first proper shower in there tonight, even got a seat to sit on in the shower
Keep warm and well wrapped up,
Cheers JackieO xxx0 -

I have been snoozing a lot today and am also looking forward to bed.
Jools those gammons are notorious for being salty so dont give yourself a hard time x
Lamewolf- the snow does the same to me too xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
JackieO excellent news; well done Tessa!:TIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

We ended up with 6 inches of snow, it's just stopped snowing. DH just had to measure the top of the garden table (again) whilst he put out some water and feed for the birds. It looked like a Hitchcock film earlier, although there is plenty of water in the snow, the birds still need water. As if I have to say that on here !
I have sorted most of the Tax re the incomings and outgoings of the property we let. I will will will submit the returns tomorrow.
We had to pay insurance for 2 of the properties today and our home which is due in Feb.
We were having a meal with potatoes tonight but when I started prepping dinner I realised we only had 3 so we have spag bol tonight, hope the snow melts as I must shop tomorrow. DH put loads of ash from the inglenook on the drive but he couldn't get enough grip to get up it, so it's a no spend day.
Downstairs vaced and 7 shirts ironed just another mountain to tackle. Off for a hot soak, glass of vino, dinner and feet up in front of tv.
Stay safe all and take care of 2 and 4 legged friends and family.0 -

Try putting loads of raw potatoes in and simmering it, it might work.
