Good Morning x
I have been up all night with my dog Molly. I spent the night curled up with her patting her and stroking her as she seemed really unhappy and uncomfortable with her tummy - it was growling badly. Every time I stopped, she started licking and pawing at my hand. At one point I was really upset as I have lost my two piggies already this year but dont know if I could cope with losing Molly.
Anyway with the light of day, and i gave myself a stern talking to and will be taking her to the vet soon. Please send healing vibes x
Snow here with more to come. DD at home as Im not risking her getting stuck on her 50 mile round trip to college on country roads:eek: She is worried as it will be an unautorised absence and her tutor will give her grief on FB. Well just let her tutor try - she will get a blasting back from me via FB:mad:I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning :hello:
We usually go shopping on fridays, but we weren't sure what one of the roads would be like today (it's on quite a slope and is horrible if it's icy). So mr tru thought he'd get four pints of milk and a loaf of bread on the way home from work last night – most shops had sold out! Staff said that people had been panic buying silly amounts *rolls eyes* The road looks OK though, so we'll do our usual shopping trip.
There's about an inch of snow on the ground and it's still falling, it's supposed to get heavy later. Miffy I'm going to google photos of the forest in a mo, I bet Mallard's Pike looks fabulous
Master tru has just come home from work, he's working in the middle of nowhere and the lanes are impossible.
The chickens are refusing to walk in the snow, they're all crowded around the shed doorway
I'm part way through crocheting a small bag – it's not looking good :rotfl:Bulletproof0 -
(((Hugs))) for Molly dog. Hope she gets better soon.
Snow belting down now. The news said it would hit my region about midday.... well its started early.
Son has gone to college, hope he doesnt have to wait too long for a bus.
Daughter has her 12 week pregnancy scan today. Hope its not called off at the last minute (though its understandable if they do). I told her to ring the hospital before she heads out the door. Her boyfriend will get her there even if he has to carry her.... He wants this baby so much!:)
Looks like the shut down has been called off at hubbys work. Apparently several of the men are from Wales and they jumped ship yesterday in case they got snowed in at work. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Morning All
Snow in West Sussex, on it's way to us:eek:
DGD is supposed to be coming lunchtime, but we shall have to see!
Chilli and rice for dinner.
I was so cross with Sky yesterday, I went and made a huge pot of Italian Bean soup. It was a Nadia Sawahla recipe that was in the Sunday paper. More like a veg stew. I ended up having it for dinner, and it was delish! Really filled me up and I had some to freeze too.:T
Keep warm everyone!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Only a dusting of snow here-we're about 12 miles east of Manchester on the edge of the Peak District and I could see headlights on the Snake Pass earlier.
Bitterly cold though and a horrible east wind.DH has a meeting in Cheshire later. I've made him a flask of coffee and put snacks plus a sleeping bag in the car so I hope he's ok.
Lunch will be lentil soup-must brave the cold in the garage to get it out of the freezer. Dinner will be butternut squash and blue cheese rissotto using an Aldi 49p squash and some of the Christmas stilton.I was very organised yesterday and went to Tesco on my way home so don't need to go out. I even remembered to go into the garden to get the sage for the rissotto.
DH has just phoned to say he got to work and the roads are very quiet.0 -

Good morning everyone
Very little snow ... as yet, but it's freezing and there is a bitter wind blowing.
Slow cooker is on with bean and bacon soup, with all the week's left over veggies, and the timer is on for the breadmaker, I feel the need for real comfort food tonight. Lunch will be a sandwich as I am at a meeting.
Oxfam have agreed to come and pick up some boxes tomorrow morning so will do a couple more hours clearing book shelves in the loft tonight. Sprayed all the bathroom tiles with bleach spray after I got out the shower this morning and they can have a good scrub tonight. Towels and bath mats are all in the washing machine so the bathroom will be sparkling tonight. DH always says it smells like a swimming pool in there!
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep warm and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

no snow here yet but im waiting waiting waiting.
dd2 is going to a party tonight and im worried to death. the details are a bit vague. shes going back to one friends after school then going to the party and sleeping at another friends. wish she wasnt going but i cant stop her as shes had two weeks of exams and has worked very hard and i want her to have some down time. lets hope she texts me at regular intervals like ive told her to!!
tea tonight home made fish cakes. yum. just us three for tea then ill be in all cosy. on the plus side i dont have to go out and get dd2 from bus stop so thats a big plus.
little man has taken his "snow bag" to school hoping that it snows and they can go out and have some fun. its lovely to be at his school and watch all the fun times they have. im very privilaged.
thinking of a poor old lady today who was in her 80s and beaten to death in her own home. the postie said she was a lovely old lady. dont think she was wealthy cant imagine what she went through.they burgled her and beat her. it makes me go cold.
thinking of those who have long journeys to make today. both me and hubby are about a mile from work so were ok.
have a good day everyone - its offical - lots of cups of tea needed!!!0 -
No snow here, and looks like the sun is trying to come out! Looks cold, havent braved it yet, been awake the whole night again, eyes are on fire. Todays plan involved making a pot of soup and a batch of mincey something, but the freezer is chocka so will revise the plan later when the caffeine has worked! Will need to iron at some point as I'm running out of tops, was saving that for today in case of the white stuff, although the sky does look very white we are still apparently not getting any!
Hugs to molly and mollydog, and everyone who needs/wants one, stay safe everyone!RIP Iain
