    Good morning everybody,

We have a light sprinkling of snow from last night, but it's snowing again now,the wind was very cold when I was out with Leo though.Glad i did my shop yesterday afternoon, though just did my normal one apart from an extra bottle of milk as a precaution. We get our s delivered by our lovely milkman and he hasn't let us down yet:T

Cos I dont need to go out I spose I should try to get the ironing pile down, boo :( I have fed the birds at the back & can hear them chirruping away, and want to salt the drive before much more comes down.I want to get the breadmaker on too.Not decided on tea yet but i want to make some soup.I had 2 leftover portions of stew, one beef, one turkey-D:(H complained cos we had stew 2 days running even though they were different.Told him he was quite free to make himself egg & chips if he wanted :D.Anyway I chopped the meat up a bit smaller and made it into 2 pies and they've gone in the freezer and he won't even realise when he eats them :rotfl:I find the men do love a good pie :D
Wuvvies-that's so sad about the old lady, poor thing must have been so scared.

:hello: Candygirl, nice to see you-how are those lovely grandkids of yours doing?
Hugs for Molly41 and Molly, hope she's better soon.
Cait-so pleased you updated on Ivy yesterday, glad she's feeling better.
Well take care everyone, and stay safe & warm x

    Morning all:j:j

Well we have 1" of snow on the ground here.

Our Kids school is open and Iv not long got back from taking them. It was quite a job getting them there with how hard the snow was coming down. The school may shut later on In the day.
Our school is the only one of a handfull of schools that are open on our area. Most decided last night to shut.

I hope that you are all keeping safe, warm and those with kids are enjoying the snow.

Don;t forget to check on any local old people that you know of.

    Enjoy your day every one:j:j
:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j

    Morning all,
Had a terrible nights sleep, went to bed at 10.30, was just nodding off when I heard what I thought was a lorry's engine running, after 20mns I got up and looked down the road to see traffic lights with the generator running. It was quite a way from our place but with my hearing it may as well have been at the bottom of the bed. It was removed at 2.45am. So strange for workers to be working at that stupid 'o clock.
Woke to 4 inches of snow, DH went out and measured it. Still snowing thick and hard so all schools are closed. DH promised DGD2 we'd make a snowman but we can't get to DD2's as she lives by a steep hill and it's not on a main road.
More tax stuff to sort today, need to vacume through and make spicy chicken breasts cauli cheese & pots for dinner tonight, I'll have to donn my wellies to get to the freezer in the garage.
MOLLY, Hope Molly will be ok.
WUVVIES, How tragic, that poor lady.
CANDYGIRL, Good to see you back again.
JOOLS, Still thinking of you, hope you're ok.
Hope you all keep safe and warm

Oooooh poo, just lost my post. Greetings from the middle of the red alert area, we've probably had 6 inches of snow already, and the wind is now whipping up the cresta run into drifts. Got an incling something was up when we got a flurry of emails late on at work yesterday cancelling meetings and events today as agencies in Cardiff were being warned not to travel to S W valleys. Hence I'm sat here at home in jarmeys - albeit with plenty of work to do.
I was around in 1963 but don't remember the winter but have seen photos of me in snow up to my neck, and in 1982 was in uni in a West Wales town with frozen sea, snow on the beach and 15 foot drifts where snow ploughs had been through - and me, teetering to the local pub in a pair of high heeled red boots, along icy pavements, only pair of boots i had, no wonder I have problems with my back!
have skim read this week. Congrats to RR (?) DD on uni, comiserations re pets - the loss of a dog leaves a huge hole.
Hugs to all, stay warm and out of the snow if at all possible.
    Brynxxxxxxxxx

Ps forgot to say, went to our local Tes??o last night for a top up shop - didn't expect to find bread/milk, but no fresh fruit and veg or fresh meat??? anything fresh was totally empty

Brrrr - it's c-c-cold here! Nasty white stuff falling, too - and settling. We're supposed to be going into town this afternoon (Mr LW is wfh today) but will see what it's like later.

Tomorrow, the car's due to go for service (in Northampton) and Mr LW is having a courtesy car, as I have an appointment with the audiologist; I've had my new hearing aid for about a month, and she wants to see me to check if there's any "tweaks" that need doing in the programming.

Molly lots of "Well Westie" vibes for Molly-Dog; poor lass, it's heartbreaking when they feel ill, and you can't make them better straight away.

I hope Cait's Ivy-Dog is having a better day today, too.

We're having jolly old jacket spuds with baked beans for our dins today - nice and easy!:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Back from the vets and she has had medicine and blood tests and is a lot more settled. They think it might be pancreatitis so nothing sinister. Anyway she is snoozing her head off - little monkey!

Snow is really heavy now so confined to barracks but we have milk and loads of stuff in freezer. We can manage a few days to a week so will be fine. Hugs and thank you so much for the healing vibes x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

She is worried as it will be an unautorised absence and her tutor will give her grief on FB. Well just let her tutor try - she will get a blasting back from me via FB:mad:
Molly - why is DD in contact with her tutor via FB?! Unless it's a college page, that's quite unethical. And even if it is a college page she should not get grief. Hope dog is better soon x

Dinner will be butternut squash and blue cheese rissotto using an Aldi 49p squash and some of the Christmas stilton.
Thirzah - have you got a recipe? I have BNS, stilton and risotto rice in!

Unclebryn - where are you? I'm in Llanelli

Lots of snow here!! :j:j:j:j 3 inches, and still falling. I woke up for toilet at 3.30am and there was no snow so I was gutted, but woke up 3hours later and it was white :D. I was going to attempt to go to work but been told to work from home instead. Have no work to do though ;).

I donned my wellies, thermals, earmuffs, gloves and hat, and went for a nice stroll around the lake and the industrial estate. Quite pretty out :), although I do miss seeing the sea in the snow.

So another day at home for me :o Only managed one day back :rotfl:. I will potter around and do some paperwork today, and finish spring cleaning. I may make a snowman later :D. My friend was meant to be coming for tea tonight, but doubt it now.

OS wise - dishes to wash, HM celery soup for lunch, recycling to sort, paperwork to do, laundry to go away.

Have a fab day all, stay safe and warm
