If you drive too close to the car in front, even in traffic, it IS dangerous. No, children mightn't die, but you're certainly in danger of hitting the car in front if he stops suddenly, say, oh I don't know, to let a car out!
As above, don't enter the box junction unless you can get out of it - if someone from a side road goes in front of you, they will be blocking it.0 -

Perhaps not but he was driving selfishly. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -

It would never be considered dangerous in these circumstances - traffic crawling, probably a good view of stationary traffic ahead. If he hit the car in front at those speeds, he'd probably get a driver improvement course or careless driving summons, if indeed the police were ever contacted about it.
If the OP is familiar with the existence of the box, he has little excuse for ignoring the purpose of the box, but if he wasn't aware of it and the paintwork is worn, he has a good case against prosecution.
Could the OP give us a Google map link to the junction?Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.0 -

I doubt it would go any further than nfa, if the police did attend.
Google may not help much unless the photos are recent.0 -

I agree, other than if he was also infringing the yellow box rules, they might decide he needed a bit of help by way of the DIC. I'm pretty sure I'd be sending him in that direction.Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.0 -

I'm keener to impress on the motorist where the line is drawn between careful and careless/inattention.
I've 4 years tops to go, and I could retire tomorrow. My discretionary parameters have never, and will never cause consternation in the supervisory corridors, so I think they'll stand the test of a forum interrogation.Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.0 -

He STOPPED in a box junction .... therefore driving dangerously.
Whether I do it, you do or not it's still creating a hazard.
Like Jimmy the Wig say's its a bit like telling the authorities you were doing 80mph on a clear motorway in a well maintained M5.... in clear weather and good lighting!
Is it 'dangerous' .... perhaps for any rabbit strays into the headlights..... in other words its not a good excuse to the authorities.... it might be for you and I....
Anyway, don't know the junction, hope LondonTiger doesn't get a ticket... hate ****dy cameras....
So easy get out would seem to be: Was it possible to turn right?
Since you can legally enter a box junction even when you cannot exit when turning right.....
If possible, you entered with a FULL intention of turning right, then your car stalled .... (presumably) and when you managed to get it going again it was safer just to continue?0 -

Confusing post. Firstly you're calling his driving dangerous (which it's not). Then you're trying to offer him get out options by lying.
Strange.Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.0
