No, read the red part. The circumstances described by the OP does not make this a theft and numerous posters have told yoi this.

I have, its still recorded as a theft until evidence to the contrary confirms it isn't. Based on the info we have a report would be taken and enquiries carried out until its either "no crimed" or its confirmed. Numerous posters mean nothing if they're wrong.

Its the same as the bbcs "fake britain" on one show they had a guess that stated "market traders sell counterfeit goods" which they never made it clear that it was a rare thing and not all market traders sell conterfeit goods. i complained to the BBC and was told that people would know they did not mean all market traders, yet they refused to clarify this or make any other statement in a future show

Thank you all,

William O The address you have posted is definitely them,
the email address on Yell is info@click4pc.co.uk web site is Click4Pc.co.uk.

I am just waiting for Royal mail tracking to say it has been deliverd and as it is 4 day's now I phoned the sorting office and they tried tracking it, but its not on there, the funny thing is that Basildon sorting office is at one end of Eastgate and these people are at the othe end that's less than 5mins.

thank's again Drinda.

Just to chuck in my 2p-worth......
This is not a case of theft, it's a breach of contract.
As it's a verbal contract, proving anything is going to be difficult.

As I see it, the facts are these:-
Computer wasn't working
OP phoned a company who agreed to look at it on a "no fix-no fee" basis.
Said company did some work on computer (authorised or not is a different argument).
Company now wants paying for said work and is keeping computer until debt is settled.

No theft there.
:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.
