So I weighed myself this morning and I am 9stone 10(only 5ft2). So 10 lbs in 10 weeks seems doable Still not v well so not going to manage any exercise for a bit (walking downstairs was enough for me!). Eating today (decided to plan it all);
Breakfast; porridge and smoothie
Lunch; veg soup or baked beans
Dinner; nut roast, jacket pot, veg, tinned fruit and yog for pudding
Snacks - raw veg sticks, fruit
Hopefully that will be enough to fill me up. However, couldn't manage all my porridge - normally being ill doesn't affect my appetite but it has this morning (and my cup of tea tastes funny).
No biscuits or cakes in the house - got to wean myself off of them. Will probably do some baking at some point today though so will have to be strong not to eat it all!Oct grocery budget £368.40 / 6000 -
Temptations over Xmas have ruined this and I now feel generally rubbish so a ten week back on the wagon challenge could be just the ticket to motivate me again
I don't believe I am lactose intolerant and do have the occasional dairy items like milk in my morning tea, ice cream on a Sunday and the occasional bits of cheese. But, nowhere near what I used to eat.
I am not finding going without grains a challenge as I don't get hungry on what I do eat. I used to stuff myself with bread in the form of sandwiches, Marmite on toast and French stick & cheese and be really full up. Nowadays, I feel content after far smaller meals of better nutrition.
The problem with paleo/primal/caveman is expense. I can' t afford grass fed beef, lamb etc and wholly organic fruit & veg. I do buy free range eggs from Aldi or Lidl and I believe that Lidl's large eggs are a fraction bigger than Aldi's. I also buy Lidl's organic carrots, and, locally grown potatoes. When the mortgage is paid off I will try and go completely organic. The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

Lunch (apart from Sunday) is always either a couple of roast chicken thighs or tin of mackerel/herring/salmon and 6 cherry tomatoes, 6 slices of cucumber, 10 olives, 10 bits (or whole depending on size) of radish, portion of sauerkraut and a similar sized mass of pickled red cabbage. I usually have Lidl's mackerel (125gm) in tomato sauce but if I do a workout before lunch I will have their herring (200gm) in mustard sauce. Now that I've lost 4 stone I will also have a clementine or satsuma. When they're out of season I'll shift to an apple or perhaps a pear/plum.
Dinner is whatever my wife cooks with (again now I've lost weight) half a grapefruit for puding. My daily treat is 125gms of Aldi's 70% cocoa solid dark chocolate.
Sunday is often a day I will eat nothing after lunch until Monday morning breakfast. It depends on if I feel hungry or not, usually not.The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

Hi......can I join please? I had a great year 2011 weight loss wise.
I went from 14st 4 to 10st 13. This was done mostly thru cutting out crisps and chocs. I was big into exercise anyway, running 3 times a week, walking at least 3 times a week and weight training 1-2 times a week. This was a routine I'd had for a couple of years without any weight loss. One day I cut out the rubbish and cut back on the exercise (due to work commitments) and the weight started falling off!
I kept a steady weight between 10 13 and 11 1 until recently however I'm now up to 11 3 and noticing how much rubbish I'm eating. So its now time to cut it out and in a few weeks slow start to introduce the exercise again.
I've a trip booked with 10 skinny girls in may which is 15 weeks away. My aim is 10 St 3 by then so 1lb a week...I would love more but need to be realistic.
Thanks and good luck everyone0 -
Hi guys
Didn't make it on yesterday as was feeling generally under the weather and sorry for myself. To be honest I never really find the need to do a specific diet, I just try to make healthy choices and continue my normal exercise!
My problem lately has been since I started a new job with a longer commute my motivation to exercise has disappeared so aside from walking the dog and weekly hockey match I haven't done a lot.
Weighed yesterday: 67.7kg (10st 9lb) which is pretty bad for me, I normally hover around 65kg (10st 3lb).
Still gradually eating some of the rubbish left over from Christmas, but I think as long as it's in moderation it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
I don't tend to eat any bread but I do have rice and pasta as I'm not a big meat eater - just fish, lean mince and chicken. Lunches tend to be pasta with prawns or tuna, breakfast is mostly Weetabix and tea varies between different stir fries, fish and veg, chilli etc.
My problem lately has been snacking, for some reason I can't resist and it's unhealthy snacks as well. So my aim for this first week is really just to cut out the sugary snacks and see how that goes! Will update the targets list in a minute.
Keep up the good work everyone!Kitchen Debt - 2820/260Save £12k in 2013 #060: 1293.24/3000MFW: 88760.00/85000.00 (4.24% paid)0 -
A little late, but I'd like to join in as well. Havent been on here for months, but nipped on this evening in the hope of finding a weight loss thread and seeing as I don't like to be restricted to any particular diet regime, this thread is perfect. At the moment I feel like a big fat pig. I've put on 1st 12lbs in the last 14 months, bursting out of trousers, skirts, blouses etc. I know I have no one else to blame, but myself. I normally have a reasonably healthy diet, but it is all the extra rubbish such as cake, biscuits, sweets and alcohol that I've been 'treating' myself with, that's the cause. Well, after weighing myself tonight for the first time in a few months, I'm horrified to see that I'm now 10st 12lbs, so that is it, I really am determined to shift it now. Ideally, I want to be somewhere between 8st 7lbs and 9st, but I wont manage all that in 10 weeks. Therefore, I will aim for 9st 7lbs in 10 weeks. That's hopefully a loss of 1st 5lbs, which means I need to aim for 2lb a week loss.
Good luck to all.0 -
Hope you don't mind another one joining late, just noticed this, I'm currently 14 stone 10 ( which is down from my 15 stone 7 of last year) I'm shorter than quite a few of you at 5 ft 1 so I'm sure you can imagine how big I look lol
Would like to get to 14 stone by the end ... Because I'm bigger I may loose it a bit faster, but I don't want to loose it too fast so am setting myself the target of 14 stone if that's ok ?
Good luck everyone0 -
Felt like jumping on the scales this morning. I am now back to my pre christmas blowout weight of 13st 1lb. I'm going to take it that I've lost a pound since Saturday even though I know weight fluctuates from day to day.
Now to go for losing some fat and putting on some lean muscle. One advantage of strength training is that lean muscle takes more calories in upkeep than fat. A pound of muscle burns 30-50 calories a day. So, if I put on 10lbs of lean muscle I can have an extra two glasses of wine a day!
I did not fast yesterday after Sunday dinner. I ate one chicken and turkey meat Frikadelle (Lidl) at 17:30 and a small ramekin of nuts & seeds (also Lidl) at 19:30. I also had a bottle wine over the weekend as I thought the exercise I've been doing would take care of it.

Did my weigh in yesterday and am delighted. 10st 7lbs - so thats 6lbs in a week! Am delighted that my exercise regime seems to be having the desired effect. Expecting the loss to be much less next week now I'm in a routine but happy with the initial big loss to get me started.
Finding the food really easy to keep to and since my exercise is only 20 mins a day I can't really get any excuses not to do it. Very happy with myself anyway
