If you could retire early and live anywhere - where would it be?

Hi all!

We'd all love to live the dream and retire early, where would you choose to do it and why?

I would chill out in Thailand, - beautiful beaches, amazing food and friendly people.. :j

But I haven't seen enough of the world yet and need some fuel for my imagination... Where would you go?

When we visited Barbados, we said we'd love to retire there but I also love Cape Town, it has seasons, which I think I might miss if I lived somewhere that's hot all year round, but it has so many lovely beaches and other fantastic scenery with great food & wine :D

I also really like Lagos in Portugal, not as far a flight as the other places I've mentioned and seasonal but is within the Euro zone so not as cheap as Cape Town.

Maybe I haven't been to the place I really want to retire to yet!

    Good question dontbegreedy :T

Somewhere in South America... probably northern Argentina.
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning

San Francisco, I absolutely love the place and would move there tomorrow if I could. Failing that, Melbourne.

    Yes, San Francisco too :grinheart
    Happy :)
  • I'd spend the winter in Tortola, British Virgin Isles and Summer in Europe (possibly Venice).

Failing that I'd live on cruise ships and spend my days travelling the globe and being waited on hand and foot:D

South of France for six months (Summer) and usually travel the world most of the other six.
