Ladygrim, those photos are fabulous! Thanks for sharing.

What a day I've had. At long long last the car has got through its MoT test. I got the brakes sorted out (they weren't that bad, but just not quite up to test standard!), and had the headlamps realigned. All in all I've coughed up £298.50 including service and test fees to get this little certificate. What a nightmare! I had to fish into the deepest depths of my wallet to get the bills paid without using credit.

So, otherwise today, the bloke has been and sorted out the bed. I'm not sure what he thinks I'll be doing in the bed as he made a special extra strong central support beam with not one but two legs on it. Maybe he thinks I'll be using it to do some adult trampolining (fat chance, ha ha :o:rotfl:).

Even with all the running around getting work done on my car and getting it retested, I still managed to get some housey type stuff done. Nothing exciting mind, just a bit of washing and stuff. Oh and I washed and disinfected the wheelie bin...ewww it was whiffy whiffy whiffy..... normally it doesn't get too horrible, but something must have leaked and other stuff got stuck in the bottom of it. Yeuuuuuk.

DLB, what a good neighbour you are!! Where I lived before we had fabulous south facing gardens and we (ie the neighbours) all lived in peace. Then some twerps with a barbecue, a stereo and about 2,000 friends moved in nearby and the peace was utterly shattered with the music, late night drinkers with their talking/laughing, not to mention the smoke from the barbecue almost every evening. I do so love my peace and quiet, and they really spurred me on when I was making the decision to move away.

    Bye for now.

Hi all - welcome to all newbies, hope all doggies and kitties better and hope everyone is feeling 'up' today. Had brilliant sunshine all day and it's been so warm. Have had a manic day which is still not over! Shopping this morning, family round this afternoon, friends round later tonight - bit of a booze-up! DH cooking bacon misshapes (like thick bits of gammon - looks yum), eggs and fried pots for dinner as I type! Will try and look in again later - have skimmed the posts today but will have a proper look later - if I not too alcoholised! Have a great evening! See you later!

The fire has finally died down now. The house is slowy smelling better (i forgot to shut the windows so it's been smokey in here for a while)

All DLB's washing folded up, & covered over, ready for when she gets back! Im sure she will appreciate it! I know I would! But I just couldn't leave it out there!

Forgot to mention, OH came back from town, with 6 bunches of flowers, lovely surprise. Its a belated anniversary token. We started seeing eachother 3yrs ago, but we was so skint 2weeks ago on the date, that we didnt bother!

Just had a lovely dinner, and Im so full now. Lettuce, cherry toms, carrot stick, celery, cucumber, grapes, chicken, jacket potato & garlic mushrooms.
Just hope my "weigh" in proves this hard work is paying off!

Spent a little more on food shopping this week, but a lot of it was stocking up the cupboards. Aswell as buying more fruit n veg. Ive got loads of washing powder, its been on offer the last 3 weeks, so every time I go, I buy an extra 3 bottles.

Right off to watch the end of Grease!

    Tara for now

    Evening All

Had a lovely day at Wembley today and the England under 16's won 1-0. Its massive in there. They didnt fill it up as are still testing it and it was only a third full - 30,000 which was bad enough when we left to go back to the tube so cant imagine when there are 90000 people in there.

Managed to do one load of washing before I went which has dried nicely just need to do the darks tomorrow then loads of ironing.

Downside of today is that had to eat junk food - there was nothing else there. Have decided that will continue with the diet just not everyday as have had quite a lot of work stress this week and thinking about food all the time isnt helping. Think had already lost a few pound so that is good. Amazing that when I decided to relax for today I wasnt as hungry as I have been all week!

Was meant to be going to my OH friends party tonight but DD isnt well so am staying at home with her. OH went with DS but didnt really want to - I wouldnt have a problem going to my friends but I suppose the difference is he is a man.

Am now starving hungry (was looking forward to having party food) so am going to have a quick route around in the freezer.

    Have a great evening.

Spent most of the day dozing as I felt a bit tired and as if I was coming down with something.

Dds could not believe I was not bustling around doing stuff like dishes, cooking, washing etc.

Got up late afternoon and feel much better so thought I would pop on here to see what is going on with everyone.

You are going to have to tell your lodger that you are not her mum and cannot afford to keep her. She really is taking advantage of you and is actually costing you money!

DH thinks his car windscreen has chipped again - it is only a few weeks since he had one replaced!

Going to join Dds in front of the t.v.

    Hugs to everyone

    Evening :hello:

Went for a walk in the park earlier and had a 99 from the ice-cream van :D Made me feel about 5 again :D And I took a couple of pics for you:

    Lake
    Swan

Finally got round to repairing my pink linen blouse and my gorgeous Ted Baker silk skirt (original price £90, I bought it for £13.50 :j)

Had yummy beef & Stilton sausages, spuds & peas for my tea and am now listening to the Radio 3 Saturday night opera broadcast with the windows open. All wonderful except when the loudest car alarm in the neighbourhood decided to go off just as one of the singers hit one of the most beautiful notes in the whole show...

Now going back to listen to the rest of the opera broadcast (and to clean the kitchen!)

Hello everybody, thought that I would get on earlier to-day but DS1 seems to monopolise the pc when he is here, they have two at home so nobody has to consider anyone and he forgets that I use mine sometimes too.

Nice day here, made pizzas for tea/dinner, went down well, as did the brownies I made for dessert. The adults have now all gone out and left me to keep an eye on the dgds and dgs2..they have been running around outside all day so were all off to sleep well before 8pm, hopefully they will stay like that.

Happy birthday Moggins, to-day or to-morrow

Racy loved that picture, envy you being near water.

Hester, I think that you either have to review your charge to your lodger of explain, very carefully and clearly that gas, electricity and water all have to be paid for and that long showers and super hot machine washes are neither necessary, allowed for in your budget, nor are they environmentally friendly...although strikes me that the last argument will not have much effect. If she is staying over the weekend when price quoted is for 5 days, I think that you will have to find some way of telling her that weekends will be another £30. Having got that all off my chest I must admit that I found it very difficult to deal with a similar problem with a Japanese family friend whose English was poor and I hated having to warn her off the internet in the afternoons...my phone bill tripled and I had a very hard time keeping up with it. Good luck!

Hope that you all enjoy the rest of the weekend, hugs for those feeling down

    Good evening everyone,

Had a lovely day today with my 2 - Plymouth won their match, so DS very happy - and we waited at the end, as its the last home game, all the players come out at the end to say thank you, and the manager actually stopped, spoke, singed autographs and posed for pictures for everyone who waited to see him. So one very happy DS with an autographed program and a pic with Ollie Holloway!!!! We then went to a Weatherspoons on the Barbican in Plymouth (which is a lovely area, near the Hoe if anyone gets the chance to go there) and the children loved going for dinner there - think it made them feel very grown up.
Im now about to go to bed, ive picked in the washing and folded it up, DW has been on and emptied and got the children to bed - they are out with their dad tomorrow, so i have a day to myself, will either veg out at home, or pop over to a friends house for a glass or two of wine!!!!

Pooky - hope all is ok now after the earthquake, hope there isnt any more damage!!

Crazychik - what a lovely thing to do - i know dlb will be very greatful!!!

Snowy - glad the car finally got through its MOT - and you can (hopefully) have a good nights sleep now on your new bed!!

Catzine - only 6 more sleeps - im SO jealous, i hope you have a wonderful time (i know you will, especially Discovery Cove, we loved it there!!!)

((HUGS)) to anyone who needs one,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
