Afternoon all
Paid stuff done so having a well earnt cuppa. DS2&3 disappeared to the golf course hills.
Going to roast a chicken for dinner and DS2 is going to have to walk to work, only just over a mile as I'm not driving in the snow.
Hugs and spoons to all in need. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Phew, haven't been on for a day or so and you've all written so much!
Bit of a blonde day today; got gym stuff and guitar ready to put in car; got halfway there and remembered guitar was still in the hall. Luckily lesson is in a guitar shop so I tried out a couple of new ones!!
Went into nice calming stretchy Pilates to find it had morphed into CX workout which is intense core strength training!! Was ok, but I had Body Attack afterwards which is like aerobics, so was nearly dead when I crawled out - still very unfit after lazy Christmas. Noticed it was snowing at 10.30. Had shower and realised I'd omitted to pack clean knickers but had 2 prs clean socks...........
Got home ok, most roads fine which is just as well as I don't do slithery. Time for a bit of 'homework' over lunch as I was due to start with a new student at 3pm, freelance work. On discussion re weather, we agreed to postpone the meeting/lesson till next week. Emailed OH at work promising to do all sorts of things then didn't notice that it was stuck on spellchecker to didn't get sent. Just sent it but none of promised tasks are done......
In between I seem to have done very little other than fill bird feeders and water, watch snow on TV and watch snow out of window. I love snow although I do feel for anyone who has lost their power supply.
Really must look at list and get a move on.
Take care everyone, especially Skint and SkintbabyRemember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -

Am pleased to announce normality has resumed. Course this morning, t'other side of the Steel City, Got there (eventually) and back ok; called in Mr. M's, Mr. S's and finally Mr. T's extra. Found Seville oranges finally. Never thought to buy sugar...or catfood or the few other bits I need (but I did buy new slippers; mine had collapsed :rotfl:) and did a favour for a friend. While I was out though it has snowed copiously so the chances of me getting what I need now are slim.
Anyway, I can make a start on the marmalade. Not looking forward to DS arriving home - I cannot take him to his GF's - way too dodgy, she lives up in the Peak Park...he may be somewhat tetchy.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Minimalist Flying occuring here, but house still looks fairly smart, all things considered.
I have completed the difficult part of my Number One Frog, and it has taken me THREE YEARS! I have outsourced the next stage because I can't do it myself and the good news is, it isn't due back to me until at least next Wednesday, so I can have five days of Me Time! I'll Fly properly again next week now that Frog No 1 is gone.
Keep hanging on in there Skintyette. Sounds like your mum has a great handle on the situation. Fierce, strengthening hugs to GI and Mumof2Better is good enough.0 -
Just made it home from work safely. Management said we had to cover bases till half four. Not quite sure why as I cancelled all home visits I had planned and spent most of the day watching the traffic drive (slide) past the health centre. So far my flying has consisted of cleaning out the log burner, washing DS's very soggy (snowball fighting) uniform for the second time this week and re-lighting the fire. It seemed like a good place to start but now I don't want to move from in front of it!Make £10 per day in July £45.48/£310

Work closed at 2pm!! it them took me just over 1 hour to drive 12 miles because of people on the road who have no idea what so ever how to drive in snow.
Run round the garden making snow track!! much to the amusment of the kids next door, who it seems have been 'told off by mum' for doing the same thing, but making hords of noise as well!! I think it was the noise they are told off for....

(((Mumof2))) I've had Valium before; don't panic, your GP won't have given it to you unless he/she feels it will help.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Hi to everyone. Had a lazy day here! Fed the birds twice - poor things - although I gave them plenty at 8 am it was gone, or snowed over, by 9 am, so crushed a big load of fat/suet blocks for them, mixed with dried mealy worms and seed, and put it out on the two tables. Cue for two robins on one table, plus two blackbirds, followed by a handful of subdued starlings. They all scoffed for around 20 mins then the smaller birds came for some, but by this time the snow was flurrying so much I couldn't see what they were.
Not done much. Emptied DW, sorted out one wardrobe and two drawers, then just a general S and S of bathroom and kitchen, a damp dust round, and that's about it! No dogs to walk today (hurrah) so sat with a cat on me in front of the fire, been surfing the internet, playing games, or reading. OH got lunch, and it's pre-prepared, home cooked pasta and veg for tea, so cue more chilling in front of a fire and a film!!
Good vibes and good luck to everyone, take care in this bad weather. Mumof2, I hope you soon begin to feel better soon, and good health to all those under par, and good health and good wishes to Skintbreeder. What a shame about your chicken dinner. What is your ex-mil like! Sounds like mine (from donkeys years ago!).
