Wow its bitterly cold with the wind here today.

Been out pottering in the greenhouse as I got my cheapie plants from Thompson and Morgan.

The Beginoas are on the top shelf they cost £1.99 for 5

Then 42 mini plugs for £4.99 (left hand side) Snapdragon, Lobelia and Petunia.

5 Giant Fushias for £4.99 (also two begonias I have taken as cuttings)

Also my seeds on the right.

I think it is still too cold for the little plugs so covered them overnight or do you think I should take them inside. I am on the South Coast and the minis spent last night in the greenhouse and looks ok today.

My 5 Cosmos seeds I planted inside have all come up will repot when the leaves are out properly. Think I shall keep them inside for now.

Love all the picutres that allotment looks lovely. I must admit when I see an area of allotments at the moment they do look a mess with all the plastic and rotten shead and odd bits of wood. I know its Winter but still if they all looked like yours it would make a big difference.

Good luck with the mushrooms interesting idea.

Popped into lidls for bread flour etc and came out with 3 self watering planters and 5 pkts of seeds, Opps!

This years something new to try will be ...........watermelon!

Do not know what made me think I could grow them without a greenhouse but I'll give it a go, and I do like a challenge :D
It may be something to do with my optimistic wish for a long warm summer this year

If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Oh, good we can grow them together. Can't be much more difficult than BNS I've decided.
Got my eye on neighbours trellis that sides my sunny bit, only a little section but wasn't planning on growing enough for a market stall, I'll be pleased if I get 1 this year.
Last year 1 of my BNS used it and a cucumber tried to but got lost. They're nice neighbours and won't mind, especially as it's their cats that use my garden as a toilet.;)

Hi everyone-it's absolutely bucketing it down here so I don't think I'll be getting much done this weekend. According to my weather app we are also due more snow this week! If I feel up to it tomorrow I will clean th greenhouse. I've had a week off work but Sod's law the day I broke up I started with a sore throat, which quickly turned into a cold and sinus infection. So my weeks leave turned out to be lots of lying on the sofa feeling really very ill :(
Anyway, the chillies and peppers have started popping up, so far I have 15 that have come up out of approximately 28...but it's not bad as the seeds are all at least 1year old and some are 2 years old. It's also the trickier ones that haven't come up-weeks hot yellow (these proved problematic for me last year) and albertos locoto and a few peppers.
As I'm away during may I'm still confused what to get on with but I'm going to try leeks again this year. I did em 2 years ago but neglected them in the greenhouse so we had spring onion size leeks-tasty tho!
